How much do you want to bet that when Samsung conducted those inspections in which they found that there were no violations they first notified the factories they would be inspecting ahead of time.

I absolutely DESPISE when companies make a show of how they care by "inspecting" their factories but the inspections are known beforehand and aren't done in disguise. This allows the corrupt factories to clean things up and get all their ducks in a row so they can present a nice, legal, palatable (and false) show of humane working conditions to the "inspectors".

Wait wait, I thought Samsung and Apple were so profitable because they made superior products and had a keen eye for design, not because they prey on the souls of young children. Boy was I mistaken, dang. I want to drink their virgin blood so I can live a life of luxury peaaaseeee!!!

Kudso to the Capitalists and robber-barons of the 21st century. You guys get the big dick award for 2012.

I think you may have forgotten to put the [/sarcasm] "tag" in your post.

"Wait wait, I thought Samsung and Apple were so profitable because they made superior products"
...Apple is profitable because they've managed to make people _think_ that they make superior products. I haven't heard anyone so lauding Samsung before.

"I want to drink their virgin blood so I can live a life of luxury peaaaseeee!!!"

You want to drink the "virgin blood" of Samsung and Apple? I'm not sure if you heard, but when people spout off about corporations being "people", it's an artificial construct, not some living human with which you can indulge your creepy vampiric desires.

What China has child labor laws?

My thoughts exactly too. Why do we care that China is using child labor?

Of course, I don't think that "we" care, because if "we" did we'd have our products made in a location where child labor wouldn't occur.

I'm actually slightly disappointed to read that Samsung outsources to China. Not sure why, but I am.

Umm, Samsung contracts with Chinese mfg companies because they dont want to pay you or me a decent living wage. What makes you think that they care about a couple of kids lives?

Apple would sue any investigators for interfering with their manufacturing processes. Then file another lawsuit claiming they had a patent on working children.
