What an awesome idea, raise the price on junk technology that doesn't live up to the hype. SSD's are headed for the garbage heap sooner than later. Do a little research before you get sucked into buying one. Don't be an "early adopter" fool who is going to be parted with his money and sorely disappointed at how lousy they really are.

VMLBASIC, I suggest researching the "true" cost of a barrel of oil. I was surprised that 30% of the cost of a single barrel is all from market speculation. These BS markets that are designed to siphon money from your pockets and mine and put them into bankers hands are a real problem.

BLKPANTHER thanks yet again for yet another assumption. I'm well aware that gasoline is not the only use for crude. Kudos to your education, I'm sure its well deserved. Also, Thanks again for the additional name-calling. I take all of them as a compliment. I would cite all of my educational achievements, but I think I'll let my posts do the talking. B E-Z.

I thought the magic word for this was "price fixing". When multiple companies work together to artificially control prices?

+1. Oddly enough, both of these companies have had their hands slapped before for price fixing.

I need a tiny bootable ssd with a write protect switch

protect the data and boot drive like a Linux boot DVD

no viruses or malware ever

turn write protect off to run XP or 7

make them cheap enough so I can have a few dozen boot drives laying around

32 - 120 GB is fine

I bet you could sell a dozen

cash money

There's such an enormous amount of write activity with Windows, I don't know how that would be possible. Use ProcessMonitor and watch how bazillions of bytes are read and written constantly in Windows.

Shut up and take my money.

These companies are stupid the magic critical mass number is .50 cents a gig. When it hits that point the profits will skyrocket because sales will skyrocket..... It's very short sighted. Oh well..

Ugh. I was hoping that SSD prices will remain low until they hit an all-time low for Black Friday. I mean, we're seeing 128 GB SSDs at $90 on NewEgg. I want them to be even lower than that. :\
