Well it sort of sucks. I would get it but I just got a S3 about two months ago and I am on verizon.

NA for Cellcom in Northern WI. The only carrier that gets signal everywhere I need it in my area :(

Since the S3 and S4 are so similar, I think I'll go with the S3. Only doing that for credit reasons anyway. if it weren't for that I'd be using a Nexus.

I am currently torn between the HTC One and the Galaxy S4. The One looks like a more solidly built, high quality feeling phone. The S4 seems to be a cheaper feeling phone packed with high end hardware and the ability to pop more storage in it shouldn't be overlooked. I am keeping my eye out for reviews!

I don't see anything in the SGS4 that I can't live w/out. I'll stick w/my SGS3 for a while longer. Too many new phones in the pipeline to make a hasty decision right now. I do not fall on my sword over any one particular brand.

Except HTC-I'll never own another phone from them, regardless of features/price.

I have the first Galaxy yet. Perhaps time for an upgrade? But I lUv my keyboard.

It would be more interesting to listen the reasons from people who which to upgrade. Most comments are from people who just bought a S3 and giving reasons why he/she would not upgrade.

On a side note, Samsung devices are great and worth every penny, regardless of how they are constructed. If people don't like them then there are plenty more choices out there. And to me that's the beauty of not being brand loyal.

Nope. I am happy with my iPhone 4. Works for me. Does what I need. I don't need the "latest and greatest" to show how "cool" I am.

avatar

Joshin

Isn't iPhone 4 the latest and greatest for apple? Apple works in their own bubble. Having a IP4 in that bubble, means you have the latest and greatest.

Nope. I was considering the HTC One, which i have played with and its ok, im not totally impressed. I was also considering the Sony Xperia ZL. I want a unlock phone. Im also tempted to hold out until i hear more about Google 'X Phone'. Im interested the possibility of customization that is rumored to be offered on the Google X Phone.

Still rocking my HTC Inspire 4g.

The S4 is available for pre-order on US Cellular in my area. It's tempting but I'm nowhere near ready for an upgrade at this time. Seems like a fantastic deal for anyone who's going to be on a contract here though.

US Cellular is probably the best carrier where I live. ...nationwide is a different story, I suppose.

Nope, I had a galaxy S 4g, and now the galaxy 3, my next upgrade won't be till the 6 is coming out lol

I'm still debating about getting an SIII for $100 or less, or the new SIV. I will definitely be getting one or the other within the next month. I may just pay the extra c-note and get the "latest and greatest".

Just got a SGSIII in January, so no, I won't be upgrading any time soon. By the time I do upgrade I suspect the mobile phone market will be quite different then it is now given how quickly the top changes hands.

Heck no, I spent over $500.00 on this dang device, why in the heck would I want to upgrade when it’s less than a year old? I am tired of this crap with the upgrades. If anything, they should pay us the difference in price depending on phone condition to get their next upgrades. I am tired of wasting money as if it grows on trees or something and it’s an unlimited resource in this country.

No, as Samsung devices are to cheap looking and feeling. Tired of so called premium phones being made of cheap plastic, which is one reason I went with the HTC One this time around. Going to purchase a premium phone, it needs to look like a premium device.

I've got a GSIII, and I like it a lot, but I've got my fingers crossed for an unmangled Verizon version of the HTC One. I like the direction they went with the camera, and don't care about the eye gimmicks of the Samsung. And I am absolutely ready for some premium industrial design. The polycarbonate just doesn't *feel* nice. It's like putting a Lambo engine inside a Pinto, if you will.

avatar

Nimrod

Thats the same reason i bought a Ford Pinto instead of a Lambo. I just didnt like what a few of the cosmetic features were made from. Cause thats obviously what counts right?

avatar

Paul_Lilly

That analogy might make sense if he went with an underpowered, entry-level smartphone found in KMart's clearance bin, but he chose an HTC One. I don't think many people would liken the One to a Pinto.

avatar

Paul_Lilly

I actually agree, to an extent. The Galaxy S III is a really nice phone, but I prefer the look and feel of the LG Optimus G, which is what I steered my step-daughter towards.

avatar

maverick knight

Premium feel is nice until you put a protective case; it will defeat the purpose of choosing a phone just for the look and feel.

avatar

Darn you Maverick! Darn you to heck! I was gonna say that. Bah! Hell with it! Im sayin it!

Does anyone these days really walk around with an expensive phone without some sort of protective case on it? I had a 1st gen Galaxy S and it had a case. Even though reviewers said it felt cheap, I carried it and dropped it for 2 years before giving it to my wife. Then I dropped it once, the glass hit a chair roller and smashed BUT THATS NOT THE POINT!!

As I read my post over, it dawns on me that I should not listen to a Tiny Tina sound board before posting here...

My Opinion Doesn't Matter.

Tiny Tina soundboard? That sounds to me like some form of Gitmo-level torture device.

Tiny Tina was, IMO, the 5th most annoying character in BL2 (after the Original Vault Hunter cast that was horribly changed in personality, story & in 2 cases voice).

I hope that her DLC will be better than the previous 3; none of the BL2 dlc have lived up to the General Knoxx DLC of BL1.

I don't have my smart phone in some sort of Black Box like case. I've seen how the Otterbox takes the semi-svelte iPhone 5 and perverts it into a bulky block about the size of the sketchy romance novels found near checkout lines everywhere (or at least it seems like it lol). If I had my phone in a case like that I wouldn't be able to comfortably carry or use it in the manner in which I am accustomed.

I've also seen cases on the iPhone 4 and Galaxy S2 fail to protect the phone. So I don't trust the S4 for withstand abuse and I would find it difficult to use both with & without a bulky protective case.

For me, one of the selling points for the Droid Razr Maxx was its durability (the others being massive battery capacity & <$50 price for me). This phone has survived ordeals without a scratch that have sent iPhones and lesser Android phones to the repair shop.

Already have a perfectly fine S3 so not me. I wonder if it's only me that doesn't have the Apple lemming mentality that they *have to* get the new release of their phone when the one they have is still perfectly fine.

avatar

Engelsstaub

Yeah it's just you, Narcissus.

Everyone I know IRL, including myself, is just unthinkingly lined up for new phones. (Being content with my 4S, my daughter with her S2, all the others I see with older Android handsets, etc. Bleating sheep all.)
