I've found that on the BDP3600 you can play Universal discs by unplugging the network cable before inserting the disc.  As an added bonus, it will also skip the previews when you do that.

The Avatar firmware fix disabled my 3600 and turned it into a brick. I ended up having to send it to Samsung twice to get it fixed. I'm really disappointed in the whole Blu-ray experience.

Be happy its not a sony ps3 outside it's 1 year warranty. They want $150 to fix my bluray on a barely used/adult owned 2 year old device. And they say it's not their fault!?! Bastards!

Please don't generalize on the "whole Blu-ray experience" just because Samsung executes poorly.

There were problems with DVD, VHS, cable TV and a whole host of other modern technologies during their respective adoption years.  Samsung has quality issues with their HDTVs so this blu-ray bungle doesn't surprise me one bit.   Their phones aren't "all that" either IMHO, but I digress.

You probably should have bought a quality brand instead of tossing bricks.

I tend to agree with him. Alot of the bluray problems have been version issues. I don't give a crap if company x implemented it poorly. Sony granted them a license so WTF.
