BlackBerry Z10. Nuff said.

Hey.That_Dude

Rumor is that they might go with a qualcomm processor for the LTE support. They do have really good LTE battery life and data throughput. IF that's the case then I hope it's with an 800 series as that could mean they're the first USB 3.0 phone as well! (not huge but at least it will be another display in the "something apple doesn't have" museum [which is getting quite large])

iphone 5. Nuff said.

So my work just gave me an iPhone 4S, and after 2 months of 'giving it a chance' I'm still really not all that impressed with it. Before that, my experience with IOS was limited to seeing my friends' 3G's and 4S's and having them try to convince me how awesome they were. The 5 looks like it's more of the same (screen, size, OS, slightly better specs, etc.) and technically barely competes with the S3 (which is a year old) My question is: what is it about the iPhone that you love so much? I'm not trying to start a troll or flame war here, I'm just genuinely curious now that I've had a chance to actually use an iPhone and am not really feelin it in terms of user experience.

You may not be trolling, but he is. So, why even acknowledge his existence?

They've deleted most of his accounts yesterday but he has so many that no once can keep up with them all.

Good point. Ok putting the troll-food away.

Sometimes I think that people follow Samsung the way other people follow apple, the Android market is wide and diverse with great products from many companies. Why are people such fanboys?

avatar

It's just Samsung's turn. Their fan base is well-deserved; use an S3 or a Note 2 and you'll see why. Before I got my S3, I was on a Motorola (Droid X) and I would go back to them in a heartbeat IF they could compete with Samsung's current awesomeness. Show me the goods, and I'll show you my money.

I have a galaxy note 1 and both the 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB port are having major issues. I have to play with the wires to get them working. I don't mean to troll or touch a sensitive nerve but my old iPhone 3gs had way more durability than my Samsung. (not that I'd ever buy another iPhone) but I think I've had it with Samsung too, they've got great designs with good specs and decent software but they cut corners and aren't durable where it matters, specially because I use my phone so much.

No sensitive nerves here. Same reason we all don't drive the same car I guess. Some people need reliability, where as others just wanna be under the hood all the time. Nothing wrong with either.

Holy 13 MP camera, Samsung!

...your move, Apple. (inb4 "'move' to dismiss this baseless lawsuit!" :P )

Sony already has 13MP on their phone and theirs actually deserve some praise because Sony used some of its camera division patent and improved its phones with real time HDR.

avatar

Paul_Lilly

LG's Optimus G (Sprint version, not AT&T) also has a 13MP rear-facing camera.

I didn't know that. Thx.

I wonder why the last-gen iPhone and SG3 (supposedly the two phones to have) are still rocking 8 MP cameras? Sony does deserve some praise...I was merely ignorant to their offerings.

Because these sensors are still fairly new. The 13MP Sony Xperia Z/ZL only just came out a few weeks ago, while the iPhone 4/s and SG3 are a year or more older.

Nokia should be mentioned for their 42MP camera phone, as well as HTC as they experiment with their Ultra Pixel technology (Which I find to be hit or miss depending on the lighting and even then a bit too grainy). Mega Pixels aren't everything in a camera, and I think we're starting to see better components on phones in general because the processors in these none dedicated camera devices are getting so much better.

42 MP...shit!

Yeah, I know more megapixels don't make a great picture. It just helps for post-processing/editing in some ways.

My last dedicated camera had less MPs than the iPhone 4S or the Samsung Galaxy 3. It took pretty good shots though. (I'm nowhere near a pro photog.)

I wonder how much of the really interesting stuff they recently showed off might go in; with a stew pot of the 5 inch 1080p AMOLED screen, 'Dual quad' Exynos (I don't think it truly deserves Octa core till they allow you to peg all 8 at the same time :p) or the flexible AMOLED tech...

They may play it safe and go Snapdragon in a plain bar phone like almost everyone else but I hope Samsung does something a little extreme. I remember many journalists saying the original Note was going to fail. Egg. On. Face.

In the same boat, Neufeld. Just picked up the S3 over the holidays, and love it. I'm just now through the break-in period and have it rooted and configured the way I like it (currently alternating between CM10.1 nightlies and Jellywiz ROMs) With that said, the specs that I'm hearing about on the S4 (quad core, 1080p, 13mp camera etc.) are certainly drool-worthy. Will probably painfully pass when it hits next month, but if Samsung scores another hit then I will definitely be grabbing the S5 on day one, or maybe as JJ said below, the Note 3.

Neufeldt2002

Just got the GSIII in January so I'm good for awhile in that regard, but it should be interesting to see what the specs are and if there is any significant design changes.

I'm waiting for the Note III, but I will definitely check this out. Competition is good for everyone who counts.
