Samsung Announces Exynos 4 Quad Processor with "Console Like" Graphics

You know that they are suggesting the ps3 or the xbox 360, but they mean the Wii. So I guess what they are trying to say is that phones are reaching what low end gaming rigs reached 10 years ago yet are inferior because they lack buttons. Game consoles suck and are stagnant.

Maybe it's showing that the marketing hype works, but I do want a quad core phone. More cores, with at least the same single-threaded performance, with _lower_ power consumption?! Who wouldn't want that?

I'm also drawing exception with the "console-like" graphics. The 360 and PS3 struggle to run at 720p and crutch on upscaling for 1080 by and large. Smartphones are quickly approaching 1080 and higher. Today's console technology would struggle to drive games on tomorrow's phones.

Tomorrow's phones will have higher screen resolutions than what modern consoles were built for and will have more RAM and more cores. Even if they aren't directly comparable, I still expect _better_ performance from these phones than what I can get from my 360. Due in no small part to PC gaming showing me just how bad console games look.

This article doesn't specify which console so this chip could pump out graphics at an N64 level and still technically live up to its claims. Weak :(

The Droid Razr by Motorola is quickly losing its "too powerful to fall into the wrong hands" claim :(

The PowerVR SGX 540 that's in the DROID RAZR(and the Galaxy Nexus...AND my Bionic) came out in November 2007.

One year after the PS3 came to market with it's massively more powerful GPU.

The current king of the mobile GPU area is Tegra3.....which comes within spitting distance of the first Xbox.

"Console like" yes, but they didn't say which generation.

"Console like".

Riiiight. Devs are still catering to the iPhone crowd. We won't get anything close to "Console like" anytime soon. Shadowgun is possible the best looking Android game out...... It still doesn't hold a candle to Infinity Blade.

iceman08 will it fare against the HTC One X and the "New iPad"
