Rumors of FileFront’s Death Greatly Exaggerated
Posted 04/02/09 at 04:25:45 PM by Nathan Grayson

Oh, sure, FileFront was circling the drain as recently as a few days ago, but fortunately, its original founders fished it out at the last second.
“We're happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. All previously suspended services should be active and working again. We thank Ziff Davis Media for their cooperation and willingness to keep the site and community alive,” reads a message from FileFront’s founders.
FileFront also made it excessively clear that its brush with death was in no way an April Fool’s joke – despite the fact that the download service popped out of its casket during the least productive “work day” of the entire year.
So! Since April Fool’s seems to have somehow acquired the ability to – on a whim – resurrect Ziff Davis gaming properties, does this mean EGM also once more walks among the living? Please?

Can you stop arguing about conspiracies, jokes, exageration. WHO CARES. FILEFRONT STAYS!
Yeah... right...

This was totally a stunt and was totally greatly exaggerated. And you are basing this on what? A changing of hands of management on the first of april...
Yep, it was totally a stunt, and a conspiracy.
Um, no.

Uh, that's not what I said. I believe FileFront completely. FileFront simply made it clear that its ressurection wasn't an April Fool's joke because many people jumped to that conclusion yesterday. Especially because a number of users tried to save many FileFront files in anticipation of the site's demise, and they were pretty pissed when their efforts were for naught.

Says the guy with two blog posts titled. "Why You Shouldn’t Give up on OnLive Just Yet" and "Why OnLive “Can’t Possibly Work”"
Gotta give you some credit though. You didn't mention the infamous "Jump". :P
Ok...

Er, that's a bit of a non-sequitur, and also, those are two perspectives that I reported on. That is, they're not my opinions. Instead, one's an in-depth analysis from Eurogamer that raises a number of provocative questions about OnLive's viability, and the other's a response from OnLive's CEO. How is this a problem?
ORLY?

Reporting is rarely ever a truly objective experience. You may have reported ON the subject but having such sarcasm and tone certainly is your opinion, kid. The titles especially. Frankly I think you did better ripping on Warhammer even though you've never played the game. How you pulled that one by the editors is beyond me.
They might as well have asked someone who has never used a smart phone before to write up a blog post about the iphone.
Warhammer lost subscribers.

Warhammer lost subscribers. Warhammer's developer suffered lay-offs. These are both bad things. End. Now, are you going to change the subject yet again? Or can people who actually want to have legit discussions safely walk under your bridge?
I take it you are clever

I take it you are clever enough to know what hides under bridges.
Also if any of you guys from MaxPC actually played WAR even in it's high point with 800,000 subscribers, there were many servers listed as "low" population. Mythic slowly started bundling them up together and the feedback received was great because the action became more consistent. If you bother to look into things, you would see that compiling servers is not always a bad thing. Besides which. called Mythic Entertainment a "ragtag team of novices" and for whatever reason compared WAR to WoW of which the article had no need to. Reporting on a story is one thing, but throwing in moronic comments like these just look utterly and completely unprofessional. What would you say if you had to report on a Zune? "M$ screws up another project as Apple schools them again."
Meanwhile I suggest you get yourself the trial before you post another WAR-related article so you can actually derive an original opinion about WAR before you embarass yourself and the blog you represent by looking more and more like a tool.
Holy smokes, something's

Holy smokes, something's starting to sizzle and it ain't Canadian Back Bacon... Anyway, everyone's entitled to their respective opinions, but I will agree that one must try something before hammering it.
Kinda like the Mac vs. PC debate. I learnt that the hard way... I used to be a guy who would push PC's more than Macs, but having toyed with them a bit, they aren't all that bad if you need a basic e-mail and web system for Granny or aunt Mildred. Albeit at a steeper price... but not so bad as I got a Mac mini.
I know that most of you would say that I should get her a PC, but considering what my younger cousins did to her last system (RIP my old Athlon TBird baby), it was time that I got something that she could use for her e-mail and online card games (that is, once I locked out most of the control panel settings to prevent those twits from fucking it up) and I don't have to run across the city twice a week to fix the darn thing. I may have a new fuel sipping 4 banger, but at about 20km/~12mi each way, it adds up. So may as well drop a few extra c-notes and get a system that I may only have to check up on once a month and save me about $80 in gas every month.
