I have a PS3 and if their universal controller is like their PS3 controller, I'll pass on it. I prefer the Xbox 360 contoller layout more and I loathe having to plug it into a USB port to charge it. Changable battery packs are a much better option.

i read all over the place that yes there is a driver that works with 64 bit...but thats after you disable signed drivers and restart pc....pretty sure you have to do it everytime you shut down too(not sure about hibernation though). so yeah there is a driver.....not made by sony that you can use to use it...but that still doesnt change the fact that sonys stupid for making a usb AND bluetooth controller and not making pc drivers for it. and THAT is the reason for my post...to say...well just read my first post

Lot of sony haters out today for no reason, Sony is not overpriced in the things they make their console sells for the same price as the Xbox 360 (they even sell it for a loss) their controllers are priced the same games too. And if they say it's going to be Universal it will probably be universal. And if not someone will m ake it work for pc, but honestly why are you using game pads on the PC, Keyboard and Mouse are all that you need.

ever hear of FIFA? or madden? and yes i have played those games with keyboard...and yes its stupid. don't get me wrong though...ps3 controller kicks ass! just wish it wasnt such a hassle...if sony misses the board on this one (meaning if they dont make a driver for pc ) i will laugh and cry and the same time.

I would never buy a Sports game for the PC the consoles are designed for them, and have more players online. But you have a good point.

Given that this is Sony we're talking about, I'm sure I won't be able to afford this.

yeah um universal? who wants to bet they won't make drivers for pc use (though one would infer that the emulation of gravis' gamepad would mean full blown win 7 64bit support)...but im NOT holding my breath. just like my playstation 3 controller (which i bought for my 32 bit pc system) is NOT getting used...stupid sony

There are no official drivers, but there are very good unofficial ones. There is even one set that tricks games into thinking it a 360 remote. And yes, there is x64 support.

If it can emulate an X-Box 360 gamepad, it can be used on PC without issue.

yeah so its pretty much a mute point then (the drivers thing) if it can and does emulate the 360. Thanks for pointing that out. good for sony... i'd still hope to see dedicated pc drivers for both wired and bluetooth (or whatever wireless tech it uses...assuming it does)
