Roll Your Own Home Theater PC Platform with Zotac's 'D2700-ITX WiFi Supreme'

Zotac has emerged as one of the busiest bodies at this year's CES convention, at least in terms of new product announcements. Announced today is Zotac's new D2700-ITX WiFi Supreme, a next-generation starter kit of sorts for users looking to put together a home theater PC system. It's built around the mini-ITX form factor to save space on your home theater rack, and is powered by Intel's Cedar Trail platform and an Nvidia GeForce GPU.

Spec highlights at a glance include:

• Intel Atom D2700 dual-core processor clocked at 2.13GHz
• Nvidia GeForce GT 520 graphics with 512MB DDR3
• 2 x DDR3-1066 DIMM slots (supports up to 4GB of RAM)
• Dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI outputs
• 2 x SATA 3Gbps ports; 2 x USB 3.0 ports; 6 x USB 2.0 ports
• 1 x PCI Express x16; 1 x mSATA slot
• GbE Ethernet
• 802.11n Wi-Fi; Bluetooth 3.0

Once you add the necessary components (RAM, storage device, operating system), Zotac says you'll be able to enjoy hardware accelerated Blu-ray 3D playback with audio support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA, along with 8-channel HD audio. It's also DX11 capable.
