Red Hat and Fujitsu Tag Team Cloud Collaboration
Open-source stalwart Red Hat has announced an expanded partnership with Fujitsu to extend their collaboration to the cloud. These two have been partners for a long time, so it really shouldn't come as a shock that Red Hat Enterprise Linux is now available as a guest operating system on Fujitsu's "On-Demand Virtual System Service" public cloud.
"With the performance and reliability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, customers can more easily scale with business needs in the cloud," said Scott Crenshaw, vice president and general manager, Cloud Business Unit at Red Hat. "The availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Fujitsu's 'On-Demand Virtual System Service' offers enterprises a strong foundation on which to extend to the cloud that combines the unique expertise of two industry leaders."
It's a win-win situation for both companies, and for customers as well. This collaboration gives Fujitsu another open-source OS to offer its customers, and a powerful one at that, with enterprise-class support from Fujitsu and backed by Red Hat.
