Razer Ups Gaming Mouse Ante with 4G Dual Sensor System
Razer’s gaming mice are taking a generational leap with the new 4G Dual Sensor technology, the company announced last week. Unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the latest versions of Razer’s Mamba and Imperator mice are its first “4G” dual-sensor mice, which means that they feature both an optical and a laser sensor.
Calling the 6400dpi dual-sensor system the "most precise and advanced sensor technology”, Razer USA president Robert "Razerguy" Krakoff said: “We worked closely with many pro-gamers to fine-tune the sensor under intense gaming conditions, ensuring it achieved a level of tracking accuracy that met their high-level demands.”
As per the press release, the 4G Dual Sensor System packs a raft of new features, including “surface calibration, lift-off distance customization, and ten times faster surface detection than any sensor from the previous generation.”
The wireless Razer Mamba can be pre-ordered now from the company’s website for $129.99, with shipping expected to begin sometime later this month. Already listed as “in stock” on the site, the Imperator is a wired mouse priced at $79.99. The two mice will be available worldwide in July.

Stick with Logitech for comfort, percision, driver support, cost. I have used Razer, RAT, Microsoft and a few others and always go back to Logitech. I currently have the G9x which is perfect for large hands. The Imperator and Mamba had tracking problems so I guess by adding another old school sensor is supposed to fix the problem?? We will see.

Two sensor, sounds like a gimmick to me. This is one of those things like the those fancy NIC's that look good on paper but no real live human would ever be able to tell the difference. And besides, the shape and how it fits in my hand is EVERYTHING in a mouse, and those claw finger Razer designs just don't do it for me. I like big beefy mice that rest comfortably in my palm. (The relatively cheap Logitech MX series is the perfect shape and size for my hand.)

Awesome. Throw the phrase "4G" in there and you confuse the 12 year olds.

$130 mouse? Come on! I don't care if it makes me win every Black Ops FF game ever! No mouse on this planet is worth that much cash!
I think Razer has too big an ego to expect dudes to shell out all that dough for a mouse!
Be better off saving that $130 to put towards an upgraded video card. Or maybe a bigger monitor! Each of those 2 things alone will help your gaming skills much better than a mouse!

PC Gaming is an expensive habit that I, among many others that take pride in. $130 is chump change for some of the stuff I paid for in regards to upgrades and what not. I do not like the idea of having wireless products, but when you want something as great as a 4Ghz sensor, you have to pay high. I have purchased the original Mamba, and it looks amazing. The charging station is so bright. Makes any blue gaming rig cool. One thing I am glad to see though is that there is more options now. All to work with what you are willing to pay.

4Ghz?
It's 4G, which means it uses 4G cellular internet to connect to the PC, so you can control your computer from anywhere in the world...
Ok, ok, that was a sarcastic joke.

the super $1000 liquid cooling setup + $3000 gaming setup says otherwise.

It means everytime you move that mouse around, every single milo-meter is "sensed". 6400dpi is extremely precise. But $130 is an overkill. I rather go for the wired version. Saves battery.
I plan on getting the RAT7, I like that mouse very much. ^^

I'm returning my RAT 7 as soon as I get the car back. It worked great for about 2 days and then all manner of odd things began happening including constant browser crashing. I ended up removing all mouse drivers and am currently back with my old Logitech using the Windows drivers.
The Logitech G700 was a bigger disappointment than the RAT. Way too sensitive and difficult to program.
If you haven't bought this mouse yet - DON'T. You'll be wasting your money, time and patience.

I'm not an idiot, i have a SteelSeries Xai and used to play competition, made a fair bit of prize money back then. But this mouse screams hype and shenanigans, just like the Philips Twin-eye before that. What an abomination.
