More and more DRM to prevent piracy and cheating. This kind of move from Microsoft for it's Xbox doesn't surprise me. If I was in the market for a console, that would me steering me more toward Sony. However it's too early to tell when Sony will follow in the same steps as Microsoft for this type of "feature" on the PS4 and possibly on firmware updates for the PS3.
I do understand they want to keep pirates and cheats from going on with their games, but at the same time it's frustrating how they force it onto the end user like that "want to game on our console? then you'll have to be put under the wide umbrella with everyone else even if you don't pirate or cheat. you're all going to pay for it"

This is just a rumor. This is also a dev kit from what I understand. It goes beyond piracy. They want to attack the used game market! That seems to be the prime target this generation. Publishers want it badly and the first console maker to do it will suffer for it.

Btw, we actually did the unboxing on a table (though it may look like a shelf) in our lab. We do, however, need to clean up our lab! :P ...I blame it on Gordon for being such a pack rat with his electronics!
Next time we do an unboxing, we'll try to find a more clutter-free environment!

Torn between this and the Wikipad(if it ever comes out). At $250 for the Wikipad, I could buy $1200 in apps/games! The Razer "could" replace my laptop with the keyboard dock, but then it starts getting rather expensive. Also sounds as if others here have big issues with Razer, never dealt with them myself. I'd like to see a side by side showdown between these two devices.
And by the way get a table and learn how to focus the camera a little better!

Biased much? Just to put things in perspective, the PS4's integrated GPU is about 1/3 as powerful as a RADEON 7970 that was released in June 2012. You don't need a $1500 gaming tablet to outperform a PS4. You can build a $500-600 PC that does it. On a PC, you don't need a yearly subscription to an online service like PSN or XBL either. PC gamers also see incredible savings in software compared to consoles. While the initial cost of entry on a console is certainly lower than PC, the total cost of ownership is actually far higher. Why do you think console manufacturers subsidize the cost of the console?
By all means, buy a PS4 if that's what you want. I really don't care. It's these ridiculous trollish comments similar to yours that are so egregious. You can ignore the facts all you want, but that doesn't make you right. It just makes you ignorant.

I've tried more than a few Razer products and KNOW from experience that their quality is lacking. You can also stop with the power argument...it's moot. It didn't/NEVER helped the PC or even mattered...and never will. The PC is a dog and doesn't make money. It's a money pit. There's business there that's why the devs throw it a few bones, otherwise they could give a f*k. Alot of the people here don't build or even upgrade in the first place. The PS4 will be a $1000 cheaper at least!!! Who said you need a yearly subscription service? But you have to have an internet connection to use the Razer Edge! The games being made for the PS4 look better than anything to date on any system so far. Cost is and always will be in the console's favor. The console drops in price, while the PC drops in value. I can trade my games in for money or credit, and you can't with PC games. Not only that, you can't even find the damn things anymore! The fact that you have to even upgrade a PC is joke on PC gamers!! How is it that an 8yr old console can play the same games without an upgrade but a PC can't? The same damn game!! Look, the PS4, 720 gets you waaay more for $400 than you get for $1500!! As for your comment about Razer's quality, I have a five year old Razer Lycosa, and a four year old Razer Naga. Both were purchased to replace Logitech components and I haven't had an issue out of either. Those are the only two Razer products I have ever owned and as they continue to function without any problems, I don't see a big issue with their quality. Maybe others have had issues, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy something from Razer if the price is right and I have the need.

Nowhere in that statement does it say "will not include disc drives." So where's the lie? It was stated at Sony's live event that they will have games that you install off of the disc and to the hard drive and will play off the hard drive. There are already a ton of games that can be installed to the existing consoles hard drives and play off the hard drives. It will have a disc drive so that you can watch movies, and install games from the disc to the system's drive the same way we do now with our PC's. Here's some more education for you. Hard drives can transfer data faster than optical disc drives. So you are wrong yet again. You are so far behind now that you have no chance of catching up. You might as well quit. You have done nothing but let me string you along so that you can make more of a fool of yourself. Yet again you've done nothing but rant and try and spin things the way you want to make them seem. And the best way to achieve this is if content, which is currently limited by the size of a blue ray disc, is instead installed to the hard drive instead of running off the disc itself. This allows them to use compression to increase the game program data stored on the disc to be installed and uncompressed on the local hard drive. Once there, it will be patched and updated automatically as discussed later. It will be accessed directly from the drive thus increasing load times of the games drastically. Also later in the video, we see that there will be large collection of games purchaseable and downloadable directly from Sony via digital download. That is what I concluded from the live event. And it's only a logically progressive step. Why else would the PS4 need such a "massive" local storage system. We saw the same step forward years ago with the PC. There once was a time when games for the PC were run directly from the disc. But as games grew more complex in graphic as well as larger in size, the game makers moved to having the game installed and accessed directly from the disc. But on the other hand, they made no mention whatsoever that it would have a disc drive. Nor did they show off the console itself. The WSJ reported that both the PS4 and XBox 720 (if that will be it's name) will include optical disc drives because of varied internet connectivity around the world at this time would impact the download only model. But since you are too uneducated and obviously too lazy to do your homework yourself, as proven by your need for me to do the work for you, along with your lack of knowledge of how computers work in the first place, you got caught with your pants down. You then tried multiple times to spin it on me to attempt to make me out as something I'm not. *laughs* You've been schooled yet again and now I'm done with you. The thing is sold out for months to come. You can only register to be notified. It's a windows 8 machine. That tells me that the problem isn't windows 8. The problem is crappy hardware out there.
By the time I can get my hands on one of these the next gen Intel chips will be out. That should allow quad core and better battery life and take the entire concept up a notch.

Yeah I got a M11x R3 (using right now) and it's plenty good! Love the fact the Razor Edge is smaller and more powerful... But! Here's a BIG factor why I didn't get the Razor Edge instead of my M11x R3, M11x R3 (i5) cost me $615 Razor Edge starts at $1200 (I think) and that's a i5, if I am spending that much money I'd go for the i7, $1500. So it starts at twice the price at least PLUS another $200 for the controller(rip off!)! Idea is awesome and I'd love to buy one some day but for now, No, I could SLI 3 GTX 680's in my desktop or buy a TITAN and get a custom liquid cooling set up for my entire PC! Or my M11x PLUS a GTX 680 with cash to spare! point is it's overpriced, I know for its size its insanely fast but for that kind of cash!?! I would have bought it if the i7 model cost $1,000 or maybe even $1,100 (maybe) but $1,500! dang...
$615 VS $1200-$1500 that's a good amount of dough!
