IT'S HERE!!! I'm posting this from my Raspberry Pi!!! I'm having such a blast with this, I feel like a kid again. I made a case out of legos, and am proud to say I haven't spent a cent, beside the Pi itself. Hunting everything done gave me a kick. I'm also thoroughly impressed with the polish of this scrappy little Raspbian Wheezy OS. You can now OC straight from the boot prompt (1Ghz, baby!!!) as well as update the OS, which was a super-smooth process (smoother than some Windows updates I've experienced). It's easy as Pi. (corny, I know) I will post some pics of mine in action next time there's a Pi article. I still need to figure out some details regarding media consumption and would like to find a nice free document program for it, but in the meantime I am very impressed with the quality/performance of my Raspberry Pi and I am having an absolute blast. The 256MB RAM doesn't seem to be a limiting factor, but I can tell this will be a new addiction for me, and I'll probably dabble in a camera network or Pi cluster in the future.

That's very cool man. I remember back (really back) just as IBM PCs became mainstream that I'd see ads in BYTE magazine for little Zilog Z80 based boards. I grew up on that processor. Reminds me of that somehow.
Have fun man - that's what it's always really been about when ya sit back & think about it.

Yep, it's like riding a bumper cart at the fair after you drove there in a sedan or pickup. I'd never take the bumper cart on a freeway, or show up to work in one, but the bumper cart is more fun in a way, and that really is what it's always been about.

@Strangelove -"stoner comment"
Yeah - once you hear a screaming baby it's all but impossible not to recognize that sound. I figured it would play out like this. No way he could keep his mouth shut.

@Silencer/4twenty - you're a serious waste of carbon kid. Get back on your tricycle & go find yourself a busy intersection to play in.

@MaxPC - You wanna do us all a favor & kill this before it gets started again please?

You can take off the stoner disguise. We all know it's you, Silencer.

It'll be nice when cheap computers like these are the norm. You know, kinda like throwaway computers, and cheaper than burner phones.

:)

I'm going to get a couple of these to play with. It could be fun.
