Am i the only one who ACTUALLY knows what a rick roll is? A rck roll IS NOT A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. It was a site with that video that wouldnt let yu exit till you clicked thru a ton of java popups that had all the lyrics to the song on it.

Just so you know :P

An odd victory but a victory none the less. I myself have had 2 'copyright' infringement claims reversed on 2 of my mere 7 videos due to bogus claims. If you have it happen to you, really look into who is making the claim and why, not just accept what youtube sends you in a message as being something you cant fight against.

Didnt the video come out (not on Youtube) before AVG was created? AVG was made in 1992, and Rick Astley was in the 80's

Try living outside the US, guys. There are soooo many oddly flagged things I see that result in me not really being able to count on YouTube. Recently I was watching a documentary in four parts, and had the third part come up as not available to my region, while the other parts are just fine. It's common to run into issues like this.

Not to mention how many videos get yanked. My music video playlists that are more than a year old will have half their videos missing.

i find those things strange myself. One video of mine has its song not allowed to be played in Germany.. and Germany only. I dont get it. And i dont agree at all with how the copyright laws are written in regards to being able to use music of your choice in a video that you have no intention of making money on, its ridiculous.

I think Youtube needs to make it a bit more difficult for someone to claim copyright on their videos. The amount of takedowns and audio removals from their site is getting absurd. I find myself often viewing other video sites because half the time Youtube took down the video again. Whether it warranted it or not.

If YouTube makes it more difficult, they open themselves up to significant liability. Google isn't the problem; the law is.

Since Viacom had it's tangent with YouTube they seem to be quick to yank anything off their servers that seems to be a violation of any kind of copywrite. That and I think both AVG and Google's staff think this could be malicious (the art of "Rick Rolling I guess).

I have to know, why was AVG claiming copyright? Or was it a mistake? This is just bizarre.

yeah I was wondering the same thing. What the hell does AVG have to do with Rick Astley or any other song for that matter?? Am I missing something here?

I don't need any more reasons to dislike AVG but thanks!
