Onkyo Mixes Old School with New School, Launches Rad Looking AV Gear

I like it. McIntosh styling (except for the cool blue accent lighting), without the McIntosh price tag. I'm surprised it took this long for a mainstream company to return to a minimalist style with large power meters on audio components.

McIntosh styling means it looks like a chiclet, a makeup case or a suppository.  McIntosh has about zero style.

And the point is that this gear looks like the audio gear of yore, from the 1960s when quadraphonic came out through the 70s and 80s when real stereo gear was replaced by Walkmans and then mp3 players.  Put a wood case around it and some big needle displays and you have some almost steampunk cool looks.
