I boght the anual suscription in Windows Market, i can´t see the content of the Dic issue.

I realize MPC is a business and they need to keep up the bottom line but those of us who are print subscribers (I have been for many YEARS)should have a free or VERY low cost option for using the App.

The annual sub purchase button doesn't work. Fix it so I can sub it for the year!

The new start screen is a 10x better then the start menu, which I rarely used. Now I dread using anything pre-Win8.

The button is a bit confusing. Click on the price button to the right of the "annual subscription" button.

I just don't get all of the whining about the Start Menu. I seldom used it in Windows 7 or XP so I don't miss at all. Truth be told I use the Windows 8 Start Screen more the I ever thought about using the Start Menu.

Might as well make this app a PDF downloader since windows 8 has a built in reader. I was expecting a more dynamic digital experience with in app videos and exclusive links. At least the ability to view in portrait mode! The pages look like low res jpegs when it would be more efficient to have actually have embedded fonts and vector graphics.

Great, I will get it today. Thanks for supplying it.
As for the start menu, after working with Win 8 for a little over a week now I find that the start screen basically does the same thing. I am getting to know the new UI and it is OK. So far I have not added in any of the start menu replacement apps as I want to get to know WIn 8 in its native state. In fact I am much happier with it this weekend than I was a week ago.

If I'm a print subscriber is there a way to transfer that subscription to the app? Or at least some discount? Plans for such a model?

avatar

joshnorem

If there was a way for us to transfer subsriptions we would probably do it, but it's not possible at this time. I'm sorry. There have been many people asking for a subscription discount for thoes who subscribe to the print magazine as well, which is also not possible at this time. But we hear your feedback! We are trying to see what we can do but please realize these things take time.

People don't realize that Microsoft did NOT took the START button away....

Your PC boots to the START button! And when you are in DESKTOP, moving cursor to where the START button was in previous versions, pops up START again so you can click it and be back to a visually impaired version of the START menu. No need to use my glasses to find the specific program I want to run.

Running to get app! MPC been on my daily reads for years now.

I am going to pass my SurfaceRT to one of my sons once I get a SurfacePro in January. If I acquire a Windows8RT/MaxPC subscription on my SurfaceRT, can I move it to my Surface pro in 1-2 months?

(I.E., is it portable/transferable?)

whatsinaname

so if i have a subscription with google magazine will this work?

avatar

joshnorem

We have different subscriptions for different channels, so the short answer to your question is no. This is only a Windows 8 subscription, and you can't move this sub to iTunes or Google, and vice versa. Let us know if you if you have any other questions.

avatar

whatsinaname

Oh well, guess I just have to read the magazine with chrome and google play.

avatar

Techrocket9

I really like the publication-specific application idea because of its potential for cross-platform subscriptions. I'll probably get this some time after I get the Surface Pro.

Now you just need an Android App.
