How about you disable physical keyboards and force everyone to type on their screens? That would be awesome. Or, disable local files and force everyone to keep their documents "in the cloud" for maximum LOLs.

I never understood the need for people to pay for an office suite for at home occasional use. Unless you have to use a MS proprietary format why pay? Libre Office is a full suite that will fill any office need that isn't a MS proprietary format.

As someone who doesn't use office applications to a serious degree, what exactly fuels a person to need an upgrade? Are the UI tweeks really doing that much for workflow?

I just redid my laptop with windows 8 a couple of weeks ago so I figured I'd give the beta a try. The changes are typical of the office revisions where there are a bunch of little touches that are really nice but anyone could ultimately live without. The one thing I'll say is that the beta is stupid fast. My laptop is a low power core 2 duo machine and I would say that the beta is probably 3-4 times faster than 2010 was on it.

Jesus...I can't believe there is going to be a new office out already. I'm still using 2007 and I've never even used 2010. Time is just flying by.

Upgrading from 2007 to 2010 is well worth it in my opinion. It's not a whole lot different but it's less buggy and the ribbon interface is much improved.
