Office 2010 Beta Already Leaked
Is a week just too long to wait to get your hands on the beta of Office 2010? If so, you can head on over to you friendly neighborhood torrent site and grab the code. While we don’t necessarily recommend doing this, you certainly could. Microsoft is neither confirming nor denying anything saying, “We have not officially released the beta code of Office (2010)… We recommend that people do not download code from unauthorized sources."
Microsoft is expected to officially release the Office 2010 beta at the Professional Developer Conference next week. A tech preview was released in July, but was still lacking some features and polish. The Redmond software giant is also making a bit of a departure by offering browser-based versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. So, interested?

I'm looking forward to it, and not. As a PC Admin at my workplace, I know that I'll hear a lot of bitching and complaining from users about the new layout and the changes from Office XP. But on the other hand, it'll be nice not having to convert Word, Excel and Power Point files so that Office XP users can open them properly (yes, we have the compatiblity pack installed).

The company I work for is a Microsoft partner (marketing, licensing, etc), and they handed us the 2010 beta this past week, asked us to install it on every desktop in the office...which our IT dept was more than willing to do. Been using it since Wednesday.

meh. I still use Office 98... it does everything that 90% of Office users need, without the loads of extraneous crap added onto it.

Jeez, that's a bit much even for the sake of simplicity, do yourself a favor and download openoffice.

I wouldn't be able to access the web versions of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/OneNote due to my choice of browser, so this could be seen as a form of revenge if I download it...
