My money is on $1500 a piece for 1TB easy. But just think. 10 years from now when you see one in a box of spare parts at joes pc chop shop down on the corner with a sticker that says $4 you can chuckle.... unless you bought one, then you may have to choke back some tears.

In one of the recent podcasts, one of the guys said they expected 1TB SSDs in the next 1 to 2 years.  Looks like that might be a whole lot sooner!  I just find it hard to beleive because we just got TB hard drives not all that long ago!  But I agree, a TB SSD would be well over $1000.

This is a sign of things to come for SSDs, I can't wait to see more like this.

Dude $300 or below...what are you smoking?  Have you even looked at the price for the 250gb models at all?  You know its going to be atleast 599 or more just because they had to customize the PCB and the controllers....but i would love to have one anyways

i was looking on guru3d web today for pics and info from computex 2009 and this is an excerpt from the OCZ booth...

"OCZ launched
its new OCZ Colossus SSD with a storage capacity of up to 1 TB. In
about eight weeks you should be able to buy the new series with 500GB
and 1TB capacity, featuring the standard 3.5'' from factor for
SSDs. Dual Indilinx controllers and a JMicron RAID controller
for a RAID 0 array are making this capacity possible. The rumored price
for the 1TB version is supposed to be around 2500 Euros or roughly 3500
USD."

Perhaps a $300 and below price tag and these things will fly off the shelves. Hopefully they have great performance.

Count on a colossus price tag with marginal performance gains over a traditional drive.
