OCZ on Monday announced that it has added 750W and 850W power supply models to its Silencer Mk III Series under the company's PC Power & Cooling brand. There are now half a dozen models to choose from in the Silencer Mk III Series, including 400W, 500W, 600W, 750W, 850W, and 1200W, all of which feature some form of 80 Plus certification (from Bronze on up to Platinum, depending on the specific model).
"Building on our highly reputable Silencer Mk III core architecture, we are very pleased to deliver new high-wattage options that provide the ultimate in efficiency and stability while delivering ultra-quiet operation and a modular cable design for which this portfolio is highly regarded," said Bob Roark, Vice-President of Power Management for OCZ Technology. "With the addition of 750W and 850W models, the Silencer Mk III Power Supply Series once again defines the ultimate power management solution for today’s professional and enthusiast users."
The new models, like the rest of the Silencer Mk III Series, feature a single +12V rail design, which has been a staple of PC Power & Cooling supplies since before OCZ acquired the firm in 2007. They also use "premium components" (like 100 percent Japanese 105C capacitors) and offer continuous stable output at 50C, OCZ says.
