I just hope PC Power and Cooling stays safe with all this going on. In 13 years of using their power supplies I have only had 1 die and it was in a dust fire.

The new OCZ Vector line of SSD looks very promising on the Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller and I plan on purchasing a 256GB model very soon. Hmmm. I think I'll still buy it.

Ahh..OCZ, first stick of DDR Ram I ever purchased was made by them, and it still works great! as well as the many sticks of RAM for various notebooks. :)

I'm not really a big fan of OCZ.
Every product I've bought from there has had problems.
I bought a 850 watt PSU, before they bought PCP&C, that was supposed to be really good. Turned out that it was, as long as you didn't push it past 600 watt. After that it developed a really bad 12v ripple. This I found out about after it took out my GTX 8800.
I've bought memory from them twice, both times had to RMA the stuff and get another brand.
Had a early Vertex that was nothing but problems, final got a replacement from them. It's a good SSD, but It's the only OCZ product I still have that's still working.

They might of cleaned up their act, but it really doesn't matter. In a weak market the weak don't make it.
I'm not too surprised that it's OCZ.

I have a 750W PC Power and Cooling Silencer (in bright red no less) that was purchased in 2008 and is still running strong (the last of their purely in-house designs I think). I hate to see a great company bought out by a "less good" company that then starts to flounder.

Yea, it was a sad day when I heard that OCZ was buying PC Power & Cooling. I have since switched to Seasonic ( they made the internals to the older PC Power & Cooling supplies).

That's interesting, considering OCZ makes the most inexpensive modular power supplies that are worth buying.

This makes me sad. PC Power and Cooling has been the best PSU manufacturer that I've used. OCZ bought them back in 2007 and PC Power and Cooling kept putting out great products. Now I hope they'll be able to stand on their own again or find another hardware partner out there.

OCZ was once a great company, then they really went to pot.

Bloody hell... yes, their SSDs are terrible, but their Vertex Plus are brilliant. Working well for months after I applied the patch. Also, their PSUs are awesome. I'm going to buy an extra one just in case.

the past 4 pcs ive built have all used OCZ's ModXTreme line of PSU's.. what will i do now for a budget friendly modular PSU! The first of the 4 is a 500watt unit built 3 years ago and the client just informed me hes looking to sell the pc (personal reasons) and that its still running flawlessly.

What will you do?

Whatever will you do?

It's the end of the World isn't it?

and only the strong survive

Im a fan of their products.. I support companies I like to better their future. If they go under well obviously ill seek an alternate manufacturer for PSU's. I was simply expressing concern for them and stating that i enjoy their products.

^^ This

730 Watts w/a modular cable system. It's what I've been using and I've had zero issues thus far.
