I'm still rockin the single gtx 460. Should I just buy another one for SLI? Dangit Nvidia, this better be worth the wait!

I would. In fact, I just picked up a 2nd evga gtx460 for $155 + tax at Fry's the other day. Figure for that price, why not.

Man, this blows. I may just suck it up and purchase a Sandy Bridge(Yes, I'm late) along with an AMD 7970. I have an itchy finger needing to left click my mouse on Newegg where it says "Secure Checkout" and this delay only made matters worse.

They're not really shiny new next-gen mobile chips, just current-gen (or last-gen, depending on how you look at it) chips in shiny new packaging.

He did not say it would be efficient, that is there best efficient ever, which could mean 10watt drop over their last release.

Geez, 1st Ivy Bridge then Kepler is getting pushed back. My super upgrade of 3 computers will not be until the summer or later by by the looks of it...

Hey John, I was thinking of you while I wrote this since you'd mentioned the lack of Kepler news in the comments on the AMD 2012 article a week or two back. Guess we know why it's been so quiet now!

Heh. It WAS awful quiet, wasn't it? I still stand by my prediction of NVidia leaking benchmarks of a Kepler card in the next 3-4 weeks just to create that FUD that they need.
The poor yields are not affecting much of NVidia's profit margin though, with a net income of a quarter of a billion dollars last year. It means that Kepler is not vital to profitability and will be a niche product for most of next year.
Meantime, foundries going to 32/28nm scale has been very painful.TSMC's 28-nm process is in serious trouble. "There are 10 designs in manufacture from seven companies. We're now hearing none of them work; no yield anyway" is a quote from an analyst.
Intel is merrily rolling along with not only a 22nm fab but with fins attached. How DO they do it?

Not just Intel's CPU chips either. Their flash chips for their SSDs are coming along just as swimmingly.

I wouldn't be so upset by this delay, if I could get a hold of another 580 lightning for SLI like I had planned to do when Ivy Bridge dropped to get some duel GPU love in my next build. Not really sure what to do at this point.

The next few years will be interesting as I can't imagine AMD, Intel, and nVida will all be able to stick around.
