Yopu must be a hermit seperated from the rest of society. Hello and welcome to the modern world!

avatar

Warrior247

Modern world? I have my console, pad, and phone, where's yours? Exactly, nobody is buying 4ft tall, $3000, noisy room heaters anymore.

AMD continues to hemorrhage money while NV posts huge profits. Now, I know that bulldozer wasn't exactly super, but they are still turning over a nice profit off of them, and your own review states that the 7970 is about equal to the 680, so what gives? Just goes to show what the power of marketing can do.

Well, something is driving down AMD graphics sales. AMD is only selling a third of the graphics cards that NVidia is. Marketing, reviews, drivers, not wanting to buy from a company that is posting large losses and laying off engineers, I donno.

avatar

Baer

Yes, it is drivers. For example when Skyrim was released just a year ago NV released a beta driver within hours to allow for wide screen gaming in SKYRIM, AMD? it took them weeks and weeks. So what did I (and many of us) do? I got a pair of GTX 580's (and some NV stock). AMD (ATi) hardware has always been decient and it is great having two competitors driving the technology but there is more to it then benchmarks.

avatar

Refuge88

Its not just benchmarks, its also drivers, and you are right Marketing, which AMD has since fixed with their rather epic game bundle.

I think where they are losing the money from is ther x86 CPU's, they just aren't selling well.

It's good to see Nvidia is doing so well.

SPreston2001

Now if only that damn 690 would come down in price lol.

avatar

Hilarity

Fuck yes! My 680 was well worth it.

avatar

Mediziner

I love my 610 too! Yeah, my 610! It is absolutely badass in ALL the games. Turn on all settings to max with max AA, man, it can handle ANYTHING! And you know what else? I use it at work for video editing! 610 IS BEAST!!!

I too am a proud owner of a brace of GTX680 cards in a couple of computers. Quiet, well behaved, good frame rates even on a big monitor. I could not asked for a better card.

avatar

devin3627

yes, you are talking about a videocard that will last years to come. i dont have the money or i'd have one in a heartbeat

avatar

Number Six

I agree. I love my GTX 680!
