I'd so purchase one of these. And use it as a router/firewall box. :D

Seriously, with a mobo like that, you could literally make one of the tiniest firewall boxes around.

I know these are being designed for the portable range of PCs but my point is still valid. Compared to other PCs in this "weight class" these Ion opens up this particular market to the gaming market. And once again I predict that these have a solid chance of adding some fuel to the gaming market. just becuase the boards aren't taloried around "gaming" doesn't mean they wont have performance in that market.

It's like driving a volvo on a dirt track...not built for it but it can pull some weight.

I believe the arguement is that casual gamers who require a little more power than intel graphics can provide will have less reason to shell out the dough for a real gaming platform.  Blueberry Garden, for example, or maybe Penny Arcade Adventures require at least some sort of gpu power.

Small mobos like these will have a serious effect on the PC gaming market. Many casual market consumers might be drawn to nvidia's small, inexpensive board which can pack a punch in low-to-mid level graphical games (L4D, CSS, Cod4, WoW, Sims3, BF2, etc...). The PC gaming market (which has been shrinking) may once again have the kick start it needs to bring back the glory days.

These things are not for "gaming".

Sigh...you really haven't discovered multipurpose mobos, eh?
It's what's great about a PC...it can be used for many things. My rig for
instance is built for gaming but I use word documents on it....does that mean
"It's not built for word processing?"

No kidding this nvidia board isn’t built for gaming but it
can be used for it. “Gaming” doesn’t always mean  a ‘Crysis’ benchmark is needed.

Logic is your friend.

No nvidia is not designing these on a gaming basis.  They are for the netbook range.  They are not focusing on gaming for this platform.  Of course you could play games on any computer.  But using gaming to compare these IONs is not logical because they are not being developed for that genre.
