Wondering if these new drivers address the issue with World of Warcraft. Seems a lot of finger pointing but no real answers to the problems?

I have ALWAYS hated how driver performance improvements only target certain cards & worse yet, certain Games. Why cant drivers improve performance across the board with the card?

Certianly don't take this the wrong way but I agree with both John has been posting less and so has Max PC staff. I will always be loyal but certainly content amount has dropped.

So you can actually buy a 680 at this point? I thought those were just paper releases, and nVidia was concentrating on bullshit mid-range cards.

Not that it matters. The 680s aren't statistically faster than my 580 Superclock. I'm waiting and hoping nVidia offers a serious performance advantage with the next generation of cards.

PCI-E 3.0 Bug Gone in System Info NVIDIA Control Panel!

This bug is gone. Not sure if it's performance related, or just a bug in the system info panel in NVIDIA Control Panel. Whatever the case, I'm glad it's gone. It was really annoying, as in me trying to diagnose a problem that turned out to be beyond my control... :P

How can they DO that? Do the software guys tweak the drivers for individual games? Astounding to make that much of a difference in frame rates in the drivers...

Weird, I've had 310.70 WHQL installed for a couple of weeks now.

What you had for a couple of weeks was the Beta version that came out 4 Dec. This one is certified.

Thanks for the update saw a newer version was available wasn't sure what the impacts were performance wise.

Totally on a side note but where has online editor Brad Chacon been haven't seen anything from him in a long while now.

Of course Paul your my fav but seems like staff has dwindled

Thanks for the props. :)

To answer your question, Brad took his freelancing skills on the road several months back and just recently accepted what I presume is a full-time gig elsewhere.

Regarding the quanity of content, it's not a matter of staff. MPC's trying to find that balance between posts and clicks without diving past the point of diminishing returns, lest I have to return my private jet and hand back the deed to my private island.

That said, I've been greenlighted to post a few more stories per day/week/month, and I've been doing that since the beginning of December. Things will inevitable slow during Christmas break when news typically slows to a crawl, but for the most part, you should see a slight increase in content compared to the past few months. We're also working on posting more features and galleries.

And the number of posts online have been greatly reduced too...

@John I've noticed that your number of comments on articles has been greatly reduced as well. Maybe there's a direct correlation. You should test this.

Agreed. It used to be that it was tough to keep on top of all the articles that we would see here in a day, but these days it is down to mostly just Paul and a handful a day. I appreciate Paul's work and dedication, but it would be nice to see some other editors kick in a bit more frequently.
(trollbait)Or it could just be that the PC landscape just isn't changing as fast as it used to...(/trollbait)

wonder which is the cms that maximumpc use. why doesn't it support rss.

I am going to chime in here in favor of additional content and content-creators as well. Paul's (generally excellent) stories have been the backbone of MaximumPC.com since I started following it, but I miss the variety that was provided by having other solid tech writers like Brad Chacos, David Murphy and David Gerrold as even intermittent contributors.
