Nvidia GeForce 260.99 Drivers Now Available for Download Too
It doesn't matter what videocard you own, chances are there are updated drivers available for download. AMD on Friday released its Catalyst 10.10 driver package, and now Nvidia has just dropped its GeForce 260.99 WHQL drivers into the wild.
New to version 260.99 are Express (one-click) and Custom (customized) installation routines. Those who choose the Custom option can decide whether or not to have Nvidia first remove older drivers prior to installing the new ones (clean install), as well as what driver components you want included (PhysX or 3D Vision).
The latest drivers support the GeForce GTS 450 and GT 430 GPUs and fix a handful of issues across several operating systems.

I'm being a bit redundant here...but here I go again...
My comment implied that it was driver 260.89 that made my rig crash in games. That's why I'm hesitant to even step up to 260.99. I won't even touch 260.89. Hence, that's why I'm sticking with 258.96 for now.

OK, so I know it sounds stupid, but I usually stick with the driver that EVGA has posted on their site. I have an EVGA 470 GTX and an EVGA P55 Clasified mobo. Somehow, they seem to know what drivers work best with their equipment (makes sense). There have been many NVIDIA drivers they never posted, which say's to me that they continually test.
I am not selling for them, but I have had good experiences with EVGA. Now if we can only get an NVIDIA-based board for i7's...

dang man, this thing really screwed my system. i couldnt install the old drivers even after completely removing them. even after i did a system restore, it hasn't been the same. programs still crash, im getting memory errors even after i didn't have any. took out 4 gigs, ran memtest, no reported errors but everything is still crashing. i tried to convert a video using cuda to test the gpu and it blue screened. me thinks this driver fried the gpu and 2 of my ram sticks. WTF NVIDIA

doesn't sound like nvidia broke your computer, sounds like something else and you found a scapegoat...

This is the first time in a loooooong time that any Nvidia drivers have made my games crash. I reverted back to 258.96. I'll pass on the 260.99 for now. Hesitant to try 260.99.
Nvidia's had a good driver history, so, I forgive them.
Hugs & Kisses.

There are a ton of code updates in the 260.89 release that make it worth updating to. I would definitely steer clear of the 260.99, but it seems that everyone here agrees that the .89 driver is sweet.

260.99 is garbage. 260.89 worked like a dream only a week ago - Custom with Clean Install ticked. This 260.99 disaster failed on 3 attempts to do the same Custom with Clean Install; PhysX installation fails every time. Obviously this was not thoroughly tested.
Sticking with 260.89 until Nvidia figures out their **** !

I just installed it. My last driver worked fine, this one does also. I am still running a GTX 285 with no plan to upgrade this generation. The only thing that I did notice was high the speed of the clean install.

Running SLI GTX 480s
fixed all my New Vegas glitches thanks to adding the sli profile and fixing AA compatibility (which inadvertently fixes the hdr lighting flickering)
fixed white spots/ black squares
also fixed the water (stepping into water making a circle with no texture around character)

Locked up my system with a GTX295 EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. regardless of Safe Mode, "smart" removal of the previous driver, EVERYTHING.
I could not get past the login screen on Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Had to revert to previous driver.
Second time in VERY recent memory they've severely botched drivers. May just roll to Radeon now...

This nVidia 260.99 driver played hell on my SLI system. Every time I went into the nVidia Control Panel and tried to adjust Desktop Color Settings, it would wash out the whole screen. I had to revert back to the previous driver.
