Nvidia GeForce 258.96 Drivers Now Available for Download

Following the release of its GeForce GTX 460 videocard, Nvidia has a new set of WHQL certified drivers available for download, version 258.96.
Of course the biggest change is that the newest driver release adds official support for the GTX 460 videcoard, but there's more to it than that. Other changes include:
- Added support for Nvidia Surround technology
- Added support for GTX 400M series of notebook GPUs
- Installs Nvidia PhysX System Software v9.10.0224
- Installs HD audio driver, version 1.0.15.0
In other words, it's pretty much an all-encompassing update. It's also the last driver Nvidia will ever put out to support Hybrid Power, which is a Hybrid SLI technology supported on the GeForce 9800 GX2 and 9800 GTX series.
The latest release also resolves a fair number of issues across multiple operating systems, both in single-GPU and multi-GPU configurations.

That's why I never download my drivers through MaxPC. Only when they're available from Nvidia themselves as as certified, non-beta. Jeez.....

can't download the driver, doesn't appear as option for my card(9600 gso)

These drivers are not WHQL, if installed windows will simply complain that they are unsigned, and if you look at the file naming that nvidia uses you can see they are not WHQL.
a WHQL file
257.21_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql.exe
A non WHQL or BETA file
258.69_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_beta.exe
258.96_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english.exe

Is it me, or are these drivers still beta? I go through the selection to find the latest drivers and it keeps taking me to the 257.21 drivers. The site still shows the 258.96 drivers as BETA, not WHQL.
I have a 9800GTX+ with windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

They aren't beta if you select the 460 as your card. Maybe it's just me but they always seem slow to update the selections on the website for each card.
