I'm a PC gamer exclusive. I do not play on consoles and do all my gaming on the PC. Now, on to my point...

If Nvidia is pumping up the whole "PC gaming is great" agenda then why are they running their Borderlands 2 demo w/ a controller? What PC gamer uses a controller for an FPS game???

Lol, seriously!

the physics effects in borderlands 2 are REALLY cool.

This sounds like nVidia being butthurt again by not having their hardware in the new game consoles.

If "PC gaming is alive and well" why does Paul always have to mention it? It seems like he always says that.

Waiting for Nvidia Titan II

Nvidia should, frankly, be ashamed to put its name on Borderlands 2 let alone to use it as a tech demo. Sure, those destructible environs (which every game was to have post-Red Faction lol) are nifty but the actual graphics of Borderlands 2 suck.

It's a fun game but it is not a game that should be used to champion the prowess, in any capacity, of a maker of "enthusiast grade" GPUs.

Good graphics are not limited to Photo Realism. Borderlands 2 has very good graphics. They are stylized but they are very good.

Exactly! That's what I'm always telling people!

Same thing with Minecraft. Just because the texture resolutions suck doesn't mean the game looks bad.

Agreed and just want to mention, that for those that are not fond of the stylized graphics of BL2, there are tweaks you can do to change that. To me it's not a question of nice graphics and BL2 but more of the style of graphics of BL2. The game itself looks really nice.

Gamers are all up on Sony right now, but the PS4 still has a disc check, and digital downloads won't be sharable. That doesn't seem like something people should be cheering about. If the Xbone didn't require Kinect and had some form of offline mode, its family sharing feature would easily trump Sony's offering. Even the almighty PC doesn't have a feature like that.

But the lack of backward compatibility (read: you lose all your purchased XBLA or PSN games) means jumping on this next console gen for anyone that already has a healthy Steam library is kind of silly. It makes much more sense to me to invest in a PC upgrade. Save for Destiny and The Division, which are some really nice looking titles, the PC is going to get its share of next gen games as well -- Titanfall and Watch Dogs among them.

The PS4 has a "disc check"? Source on this and explain what you even mean by that. The PS4 does not have any restrictions on disc based media. So I don't know what you mean by a "disc check". Also, you're trying to knock them because you can't sell the digital downloads?? Umm duh. Steam and Origin are the same way. How is it ok for Steam but not ok for PSN?

Lack of backwards compatibility....partly true. The Vita is backwards compatible with PS1 and PSP games, the PS4 still has PS1 compatibility. PS2 games....ok you got me there. PS3 games will be streamed online. Now is that really a good option? ImO not really. But hey at least they did something. I thought backwards compatibility would be important to me...back in 2006. It turns out that I didn't really play PS2 games on my launch day 60GB PS3. A couple here and there but it's been over 5 years since. If I want to continue to play PS3 games for some reason....I'll just play them on my PS3. Nobody is holding a gun to your head and screaming that you have to get rid of your previous consoles before you get the new ones.

I think he means you need the disc to play the game. Whereas with the Xbox One you don't need to put the disc in the console to play (which is obviously why it needs a 24 hour check-in).

Seriously? hand held camera video of a monitor showing this? what a worthless story.

Yes, but now we have the context of "PS4 is the low end". Just compare a $399 complete system with a $999 graphics card that is slightly more than twice as powerful.

The GK110 is a beast, pure and simple, but it is a beast designed for supercomputing. Trying to compare it to something designed to play games is going to make you look more clueless than the XBone marketing department.

The fact that they couldn't use their own "$399 just for the card" to compare it to the AMD-designed PS4 is telling.
