Nvidia CEO: PCs Need to Dazzle Users
Nvidia’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang offered some interesting thoughts on the PC industry in a recent BBC interview. He said that people are no longer wowed by their computers. Huang chalked this up to a maturity in PC hardware. He explained that people have been doing things the same way for so long, that the platform has lost some of its luster.
So is there hope? Huang seemed to think so, imagining a future of gesture-based input and intuitive smart computer systems. The Nvidia CEO focused unsurprisingly on playing up the GPU as a way to reach this more interesting PC future. "These kinds of capabilities are certainly within the next generation, because we have created a processor for the GPU that makes it possible to do parallel processing so much faster on a PC," said Huang.
Nvidia’s expansion into areas beyond their traditional graphics card business, combined with multiple delays of their new Fermi GPUs, led some to speculate the graphics giant was through with PCs. But Huang took the opportunity to make it clear that PC gaming will continue to be Nvidia’s focus.

I was going to say this genius has been spending too much time with Ol'Steve, but I was beat to it. I wouldn't be surprised if he's trying to get Apple to start using nVidia GPU's in their Macs. Because you know, the MacBook AIR needs to start melting and overheating due to shoddy GPU's. nVidia is turning in to the Apple of graphics cards lately...

Here, allow me to translate what he's really saying.
"We think people aren't wow'd by their computers anymore because they are running NVIDIA (brand) hardware. We here at NVIDIA don't even know what the top of the graphic's card market looks like anymore, thanks to ATI. Of course I run only NVIDIA (brand) chips in my gay ass Apple computer, so therefore I'm coming to the overgeneralization that everyone is just as depressed when they turn on their machines. It looks great in Starbucks though, doesn't it? Anyway, I digress. Our crack team of researchers have run the numbers and they all agree that 32% of people commit suicide the minute they turn on their machine with our lame ass, expensive, no-where-near-as-good-as-even-radeons-second-best card. The other 67% are just depressed they spent that much money for the sad showing they are getting. Of course, the final 1% are the fools who just don't know any better. PC gaming will continue (snicker) to be our focus (snort) in the future and we hope (giggle) to overtake ATI with some made up chip that we are too busy trying to find cute codenames for then to actually produce. Did I say that last part with a straight face?"

spot on
If they want to wow me, give me $5000, and I'll build super water cooled PC with 3 28" monitors. I will be full of joygasm.

I think ole Jen-Hsun has been hanging out with steve jobs for too long. Aparently parallel processing will be responsible for all future breakthroughs. Its going to make your games look better, make your mouse work harder, make your speakers sound better, make your burrito taste better, and it will get you into heaven... If you pray to it. I really wish this obnoxious jackass would go away, maybe I would start buying nvidia products again if they would just stick him in a closet and not let him talk.

I find it hard to belive a guy who swears by Apple. Which use last generation hardware AND genenrally use the COMPETITIONS's GPU. Check apple.com Radeons are the card in most systems....
