That looks about as comfortable as an Atari Jaguar controller. Geez!

if the regular handhelds are selling for $250, and they are not selling, why would you put ur device higher? yes people bought ipads and iphones, however apple sales are down too. the economy has not improved that much to were someone will shell out that amount of money. the only time people will but this is during tax season when they have gotten their refund.

What do you think would be a reasonable price for the Shield?

WretchedSoul

People pay twice that for a stupid ipad or iphone that does only a portion of the stuff this thing does.

Nice price. I expected $500 plus.

$350? Well, I can't say they didn't try to be competitive.

But damn, that's gonna be too expensive for many people. I question the viability of this product.

"the Shield website on March 20, 2013, with the first units expected to reach customers in late June."
I am pretty sure you meant May 20, 2013.

Well this price point is......actually reasonable. Who would have thought it.

I would be really interested in this if I hadn't just gotten myself a nice new Android (Nexus 4). Hopefully they'll stick with this and we'll see some nice follow ups in 2014 and 2015. By the time my phone starts to get old, if the price hasn't gone up too much... it would be really fun to get one of these.

To finally be able to play Android games with actual physical buttons.

My only problem with it is the d-pad. Overtime of use and wear, disc shaped d-pad caps become notoriously inaccurate, especially when in quick action type games. Could lightly tap or firmly press the up button on it and all it takes is one slight amount of pressure to the side and it thinks you pressed left or right. It isn't a big problem though, just an annoyance.

If I can use this on a wifi network utilizing multiple wifi routers, this is definitely a buy for me; college campus wifi blanket has never been better.
