Notion Ink Founder Touts Adam Tablet's Battery Life
One thing Apple got right with the iPad is the long battery life, and the spate of tablets to follow will certainly be measured against it. Notion Ink founder Rohan Shravan isn't sweating it, however, and claims his company's Adam slate will squeeze out at least 15 hours of real-world usage before needing recharged.
"The most power hogging elements on Adam are (in decreasing order) LCD, Wi-Fi, 3G, Speakers (in full power mode) and then CPU (Tegra)," Shravan stated in a blog post. "I am getting from more than 2 full days to minimum of 15 hours! I am thinking of posting an interactive chart where you all can fill in details of how you will use it and then get the usage value out! Tegra consumes nothing for Open GL so it’s definitely a paradise for Gamers. I have seldom seen it crossing its 60-70mW line and touching 200mW for heavy usage. Adam has 24Whr, and you are bound to be extremely happy with its battery performance. On a comparison, iPad (couldn’t find other device to write here) has 25Whr, and gives you around 11-12 hour."
Shravan also hyped up the Adam tablet's speakers claiming it sounds better than any other tablet out there. Of course, there aren't that many tablets in the wild just yet, but according to Shravan, you'll be able to watch movies on the Adam without ever wanting to reach for a pair of headphones or external speakers.

You guys really ought to give this thing a bit more coverage. The Galaxy pad et al. have stolen all the press in the "alternative" tablet market and with each new bit of information released, these products get less and less desirable. Notion Ink has, in the last few weeks, started publishing loads of information on everything from specs to their design rational. It's the most transparent large-scale product development I have ever seen. As for the product itself, it's getting better and better sounding with each new post on the Notion Ink blog, almost to a "too good to be true" extent. I'm hesitant but if this thing ends up being even half as good as it looks, I'll be getting one shortly after launch. It's leaps and bounds beyond any other offering at this point, and the [tentative] price is right.

I love everything about this tablet except the resolution of the camera. Hey, after all nothing can be perfect right?... Oh yeah COD: Black Ops... Well except for that anyway. I want to know the speed of the proccessor, the price, and date of availability in the US.

I like the Adam. It's my favorite newcomer. I still don't think I actually need a tablet though. But I love this product for being better than the iPad (on paper at least).

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. Of all the tablets that have been show, this one actually looks like actual thought went into it's design. Most of the other tablets that have been show just seem to tout a touch screen an ARM chip, and Android as the OS.
