Nokia Squashes Rumors of N8 Smartphone Delay

In case you happen to be anxious with anticipation over the upcoming release of Nokia's N8 smartphone, you can relax, everything is proceeding as scheduled, Nokia claims. According to Nokia, rumors that the N8 release is being pushed back are all false.
"We have said we expect to ship the N8 by the end of the third quarter and that hasn't changed," a Nokia spokesman told AFP.
As for how the rumors started to swirl in the first place, Nokia says it's all just a misunderstanding from Nokia's marketing department telling customers who pre-ordered the device that it wouldn't ship until October.
That's good news for Nokia, which is banking on the N8 being a hit in the smartphone market, a sector Nokia desperately wants to be relevant in.
