First of all, game developers aren't even pushing themselves with the hardware we have, today (PC hardware, that is). I have a 6-core machine, and they're currently only hitting 4 cores max. The 360 has 3 running at 3.2 Ghz... Close enough. And it's a console; While PCs now kick it's ass, it still performs as a "2012" console should. My guess is that Microsoft wants to release something RADICALLY DIFFERENT. By the time the 720 does roll out, we're gonna have some serious power. I'm sure Microsoft is thinking 3D, improved motion detection, different media (as mentioned here in the article), with graphics... Believe it or not... Coming in last. Not that it will matter, as I'm sure the graphics will rock your socks off, regardless. But yes, I think this is Microsoft's strategy... "Surprise", in a Nintendo-esque fashion. Beyond that, hardcore PC gamers wont settle for a mere XBOX 360, but there's always a crowd that will. It's an awesome machine.

Extraordinary accumulation. Yes, that's just what I desirable to see! Great matter here. The field and acceptance were right perfect. I opine that your perspective is colorful, its retributive symptomless intellection out and rattling extraordinary to see someone who knows how to put these thoughts pile so considerably. Great job on this. Convey you! Please visit here -

Our household's Xbox 360 has a thick layer of dust on it. Just thinking about it makes me drowsy. The real action today (more than ever) is on the PC.

My son likes his Xbox...I don't play it and quite frankly I'm glad they are not putting out a new one this year because then he would want one.

Then don't buy him a new Xbox then? Simple enough? I didn't even get my first portable console until I was 10 years old. I waited and waited until the DS Lite finally came. Same goes for my Dual Core phone and other neat stuff I have at home.

The longer the wait, the sweeter the fruit.

Agreed.

I've a good gaming rig, but would welcome the steam box in the market. PC standardized specs as a minimum starting point for game developers.

Most console games don't do a good port to PC so comparing console to PC graphics is not a good comparision as the resolution and detail is not there to display. Try a PC developed game ported to console and I bet you can see the difference. I can.

"Xbox 360 didn’t just outsell other consoles, it also outsold all other TV-connected devices like DVD players, as well as digital media receivers and home theater systems."

I like it how companies throw in irrelevant "facts" to make things seem better. Who cares if you beat out sales for something in a completely different category? If I'm shopping for a home theater system (which I am) does a console come to mind?

It's the same thing as Apple saying "if you include the iPad Apple topped all other PC makers in sales". That would matter if the iPad was actually a PC.

That is because the Xbox, if you go beyond concrete thinking, is a tv connected entertainment device, built in DVD player (Hence beating them in sales being an achievment). It also streams many different entertainment services, iHeart Radio, Netflix, Hulu, it has its own movie rental/purchase system, along with a music service.

This is not a game system, if you think it is then you are stuck back in the 90's with the N64 (Loved that system) and the Playstation (original).

The Xbox is an entertainment system, and while I DO want a new xbox, I understand clearly why they aren't throwing a new one out yet. Why would they put out a new Xbox when this one is making them more money than ever before?

It shares some functions with an entertainment system, but it also lacks many things a stand alone has. I can't just go out and buy an XBox and say I have my entertainment system. I wish I could.

Since when is the iPad not a personal computer?

I understand the point you're making but that's a rather poor comparison.

That's a whole separate discussion. Based on the dictionary definition an iPad is a PC. So is my calculator and smart phone.

Thanks for re-iterating my point?

Meh. Not earth-shattering. 1080p gaming on consoles has only been sliding as game devs are trying to do more with hardware that's already at its limit. Ever seen MW2 on modest PC hardware vs Xbox 360 on the same display? Shameful.

At any rate, the console crowd is happy with the muddy texture quality and poor effects, and the 360 Slim is selling like hotcakes, so MS has little incentive to release a new console when grounds are so fertile in the current environment. Perhaps when we see 2k or higher resolutions, we may get a new console.. not until then, I'm predicting.

Actually yeah I have. Side by literal side. The text is smaller on PC that's it. They look the same.

Were you running the PC version at min specs?

Yes? You're running the test wrong.

No? Don't lie to me.

I'm content to let xbox fade into oblivion. Show me a steam box, and I might buy that.
