Nielsen: Google Most Visited Website, Internet Users Hang Around Longer on Facebook
Google remains the most popular website around, but U.S. visitors are spending more of their time on Facebook, according to Nielsen's list of the Top 10 Web Brands for July 2011. There wasn't much jockeying for the No. 1 spot, with Google serving over 172 million unique visitors in July, and Facebook claiming the second most with just shy of 159 million unique visitors.
There was an even bigger disparity in time spent. On average, Internet users logged over 5 hours and 18 minutes on Facebook during the month of July. The next closest was AOL, with users spending around 2 hours and 17 minutes. Google fell into the middle of the pack with users logging 1 hour and 29 minutes. That doesn't include Google's YouTube portal, which saw nearly 126 million unique U.S. visitors with the average time per person at 1 hour and 39 minutes.
Over 213 million Americans were active online in July, spending an average of 27 hours and 14 minutes on the Web. The average person visited 95 domains. Nielsen's data takes into account Web browsing from all devices, including mobile phones, tablets, secondary PCs, and so forth.

And what percent of those users are simply idling on Facebook? I just open up Facebook on one monitor, and then play games on my other monitor. Sometimes I forget about it, and its on all day.
