Why do you need dual-core chips to surf the net?  That is what a "net"book is for right?  If they start uping specs then where do you draw the line from netbook to notebook?  My opinion, and it's just that, is a netbook should be low powered, low priced (no more than $400 including tax), and a screen no bigger than 10".  Anything else is a small notebook with them just calling it a netbook.  IMHO.

I don't know how you like to spend your time but the more you can do in less time the better. People like to surf the net as well as listening to music while using messengers maybe also seeing a movie. Theirs many ways to utilize the power of a dual-core which makes a computer run smoother. Netbooks are also personal preference, like most netbooks are around $200-$800 but they are mostly under 12 inches and sustain a decent battery life which you can compare to a $400 15 inch laptop that will only last you for 2 hrs of battery life. Yes, the 15 inch laptop will have way better performance at the moment but who wants to be carrying a 15 inch laptop that will only last for 2 hrs or less; I know I don't. Netbooks are known for their battery life and size not what its only intended to do. A better perfomance boost will not hurt as long as it maintains its size and a decent battery life.

The low price of netbooks are nice, of course, but I think one of the big factors for me is the size.  I like how small they are, and I don't think $500ish is too out there for a good performing, very small, netbook.

It's about time theirs something of an intel atom 330 making it into netbooks after about 2 yrs atoms have been talked about going dual-core in a "netbook" but how much longer are we going to wait until they actually come out to the market.

Hopefully the battery last atleast 4 hrs solid or more but maybe im just asking too much, thats the whole purpose of a netbook battery life if it has a decent performance well more BANG for your BUCK.

What's the battery life going to be like on one of these?

Also, IMO: Netbook screens are too small to make use of tricked out hardware.
