New BitFenix Spectre Pro Performance Fan Series Really Blows

Case fans are in the running for the least appreciated PC component. They're not often glamorous or sexy, but without fans, your big and burly desktop system is little more than a vertical oven for your hot running PC parts. Even if fans don't get the attention they perhaps deserve, there's still some innovation going on by those who build them, like BitFenix, which just announced its new Spectre Pro Performance Fan Series.

"After we released the Spectre Series last year, users looking primarily for a silent build were floored at just how good silent fans can be," says BitFenix Product Manager David Jarlestedt. "Now with the many unique features and design elements that we've implemented into Spectre Pro, I believe that the performance crowd is going to be even more impressed."

Using specially designed fan blades and a unique cage design, BitFenix says these fans are built to blow large amounts of air in a focused column and maintain high air pressure without being overly noisy. What's the benefit of directing air into a focused column, you ask? According to BitFenix, this minimizes diffusion and allows cool air to move past obstacles and reach critical system components to knock out your system's hotspots.

The Spectra Pro Performance Series sport Fluid Dynamic Bearings (FDB) and are available in a variety of colors and sizes ranging from 120mm to 230mm, with or without LEDs. No word on price.
