NEC Puts 27-Inch MultiSync Monitor on a Diet and Dresses It Up in New Digs
The next generation of MultiSync EA Series monitors from NEC sport LED backlighting, a thinner bezel, advanced connectivity, and a human sensor that detects user activity in front of the display and reduces power by up to 95 percent. Kicking off the new series is the EA273WM, a 27-inch display with a 16:9 TN panel and a Full HD 1920x1080 screen resolution.
NEC says the first thing you'll notice compared to previous models is the redesigned chassis, which is now up to 30 percent slimmer and 25 percent lighter, with a 130mm height-adjustable stand. In terms of future proofing, NEC outfitted the EA273WM with both a DisplayPort and HDMI port, in addition to DVI-D and VGA connectivity options.
The EA273WM features a 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness (typical), 0.31 pixel pitch, 82 pixels per inch, 5ms response time (typical), touch-sensitive on-screen display (OSD) controls, integrated 4-port USB 2.0 hub, integrated speakers that are hidden, integrated cable management, and ControlSync technology that allows users to connect and control up to six EA273WM monitors in a multi-monitor configuration.
The EA273WM is available now for $500 with a 3-year warranty.
