NCSoft Hoping Server Transfers Will Cut Back on Aion’s Looooong Queues

Aion’s really taking off – as per publisher NCSoft’s plans – but with great popularity comes great responsibility. Players are flocking to the game in droves, and unfortunately, the servers can’t bear the load. NCSoft’s solution? Server transfers, of course!
“I’m excited to confirm that we are currently working on implementing a server transfer service beginning next month,” said executive producer Lance Sites. “Specifically, we will offer every player a free one-time server transfer for a limited time to select servers. You can rest assured that addressing the demand for Aion is our biggest priority. And I know a big question is ‘Why did you not deploy more servers?’”
"Most of you are savvy enough to realize that a healthy MMO server needs a robust population. We have to calculate our reasonable concurrency numbers in a week and in a month and beyond. The last thing we want to do to our players is spread them out so that the ‘massively’ in ‘massively multiplayer’ gets lost.”
Here’s hoping that people haven’t been having so much trouble, however, that they don’t just start making server transfers back to World of Warcraft. We’d hate to see such a promising MMO lose its shot at the big time because of a few early technical gaffes.
I can't get into Aion

I can't get into Aion either, and it's disappointing. I have several AoC friends and exguildies that are playing Aion and wanting me to join up. I tried....I really did, but the music alone was driving me mad. The game is a grind, and boring. AoC and Lotro are pretty too, but I gladly left both.
queues

After the maintenance they did late last week, the queues since then have been very minimal. The last queue I was in may have been five minutes during peak times. If your playing this game solo, or any mmo solo, I think they would get boring and grindy very fast. I'm grouped up with some legion mates and we have been having a blast so far. Hit 21 last night, and we're trying to get to 25 by the weekend to hit The Abyss. So far the game is very well put together. There are some things that need to be improved upon, like the auction house and personal stores, but remember, WOW was not the great thing it is today when it was first released. Give Aion a chance.
Remember, don't take life too seriously. You won't make it out alive anyways.

I was hitting queues every night last week on Apzeal (however its spelled) I'd give up and played WoW instead. I hope they plan on extending our first months suscription becuase I'm pretty peeved I've lost a week.
Also I'm not feeling this game yet. I hit level 11 and was able to go to the Sanctum (big city). So much running around, boring. I've gotten used to WoWs fast paced gameplay (for a mmorpg) and it "appears" Aion is leading me back to oldskool...lots of travel and lots of grinding. maybe I'm wrong but at the moment I'm on the fence on whether I'll be reuping my subscription.
This is the same feeling I

This is the same feeling I got. Slow, grindy, and boring. Yes it's pretty. Yes, the flying is novel. But it's not enough IMO. I stopped playing WoW due to the never ending grind, slow pace, and incredible frustrations. Aion seems like it's an anime version of WoW, with all the same faults.
