Much has been made about Intel's Ultrabook concept, which is supposed to mesh tablet-like features with notebook performance in a highly portable form factor. The big hurdle is getting retail pricing below $1,000, and it's proving no easy task. In the meantime, system builders are bridging the gap with powerful notebooks that are highly portable, yet fall just a little shy of Ultrabook status. Such is the case with MSI's new X460 and X460DX laptops.
Both notebooks are built around Intel's Sandy Bridge platform, the X460 sporting a Core i6 2630QM processor and the X460DX a choice between a Core i3 2310M or Core i5 2410M. The X460DX ships with Nvidia's discrete GeForce GT540M graphics solution and a 500GB hard drive, while the X460 puts all its chips in Intel's integrated HD 3000 graphics and sports a 750GB hard drive. Otherwise, these two notebooks are identical. Both weigh 4.3 pounds and measure 13.35 x 9.43 x 1 (W x D x H) inches. Not quite Ultrabook territory, but you're not going to throw your back out lugging one of these to class/work and back.
Other specs include a 1366x768 resolution, 6GB of DDR3 memory (4GB is an option on the X460DX), DVD burner, GbE LAN, memory card reader, Intel's WiDi 2.0 technology, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, a single USB 2.0 port, HDMI, 1.3MP webcam, multi-touch trackpad, 6-cell battery, and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
Both models are available now starting at $750.

I think this is a typo "Core i6 2630QM" ^_^ anyway this is a great post ^_^ seems like I can afford a decent laptop without breaking the bank ^_^
