MSI Introduces AMD mATX Board Crammed with Next-Gen Tech
Who says you have to sacrifice functionality when putting together a micro-ATX build? Not MSI, who just unveiled its 890GXM-G65 motherboard.
MSI's latest board includes a bevy of higher-end and forward-thinking features, including SATA 3.0 support. Perhaps more usable in the short-term, the 890GXM-G65 also boasts native support for USB 3.0.
You'll also find a few goodies of interest to overclockers that aren't often found on mATX boards. MSI touts "military-grade" electronics components, all solid caps, solid state choke to reduce noise, a heatpipe design MSI claims can result in average operating temps of 52C, and the company's latest OC Genie Lite overclocking technology.
Other features include HDMI and DVI outputs, integrated ATI Radeon HD 4290 graphics, and lossless 24-bit/192kHz HD audio.
No word yet on price or availability.

I've been contemplating re-building my PC as a LAN party box; I guess I know what mobo I'm using.
Hopefully when they say "AMD", they mean "AM2+" so I can re-use my current CPU and RAM.

I don't think it would be anything less. Either AM2+ or AM3

Are those DIP switches I spy at the bottom of the board? Haven't seen those in a while. It's nice to finally see some love to the mATX crowd. And with ATi pumping out the visuals on this motherboard, it'll make an awesome HTPC, or starter gaming rig!
2 PCI-E 16x ports, means that even if you start off w/onboard visuals, graduating to single or CrossFireX won't be an issue. One thing that wasn't mentioned, was does this mobo use Sideport memory (aka dedicated memory for an IGP)

I have a micro-ATX build I'm planning to do soon, and this board just became a candidate for it. Sounds like an awesome set of features.
