MovieReshape Gives You that Chiseled Look without the Weight Lifting!
We won't go so far as to say that MovieReshape's human reshaping algorithm is the coolest thing we've ever seen, but it's pretty damn nifty. By crunching numbers obtained from a bunch of 3D models, MoveReshape is able to change people's on-screen attributes, making actors appear more muscular or taller, to name just two.
"The approach is based on a morphable model of 3D human shape and pose that was learned from laser scans of real people," MovieReshape's developers explain. "The algorithm commences by spatio-temporarily fitting the pose and shape of this model to the actor in either single-view or multi-view video footage. Once the model has been fitted, semantically meaningful attributes of body shape, such as height, weight, or waist girth, can be interactively modified by the user. The changed proportions of the virtual human model are then applied to the actor in all video frames by performing an image-based warping."
Sounds geeky enough, but you really have to see the algorithm in action to appreciate what's going on. Carve out about three and a half minutes of your time and hit the play button below. You'll be glad you did.

What I want is to have augmented reality glasses and have this modify people in my field of vision to my specifications in real time so that I no longer have to look at ugly people.

I will never believe anything I see ever again.
BTW, I can't be the only one who wanted to see the "breast girth" slider demonstrated...

I think this is absolutly disgusting. In a age where photo manipulation has record numbers of people trying to achieve a weight that is unrealistic this comes along to make videos of unrealistic proportions. Now we will have commercials of super skinny people telling us that size 000 is the new thing.
Don't get me wrong, it is amazing tech, but I think it will be used primarily by the industry that is making people have eating disorders.

Yes, in a world of fat people, I always get to hear that I am so skinny, that I am too skinny, eat, eat more, have some more you are too skinny. People always want to project their own self hatred with their own bodies (mostly women 35-50) and their weight issues onto me, as if I'm the one with the problem. Makes me so tired.
Finally, there is a video solution for me. I can add some weight and look as muscular, or rather as fat, as the rest of you. Thank you technology.
