Motorola XBMC Remote Goes Up for Preorder
One of the things XBMC setups could truly benefit from is a solid remote control, and coming soon, it'll have one. It's called the Motorola Nyxboard Hybrid, and according to Motorola, it's the first remote in the world designed specifically for XBMC. It's also super simple to use and works right out of the box; just connect the remote and the keys will instantly be recognized, Motorola says.
Motorola's Nyxboard Hybrid utilizes built-in RF so you can control your XBMC setup through cabinet doors or other obstructions. It's also a universal remote capable of controlling your TV, DVD player, Blu-ray player, and amplifier. Flip it over and there's a QWERTY keyboard for easy text input.
This is one we're looking forward to spending some hands on time with. The Nyxboard Hybrid sells for $60 and is available for order now, though won't ship until on or around June 27, 2011.

I like the design of this. I've been wanting a remote with a built-in QWERTY keyboard for a while.
Hopefully it'll work with other apps (WMC, Boxee, etc)

I don't get this. I have 4 XBMC installations around the house. 3 use the Logitech Harmony remotes, the last one uses a cheapo Windows Media Center remote I bought for 20$ a few years ago. All 4 worked out of the box.
There's no QWERTY keyboard, I'll give it that.
