More Streaming Content Coming to Netflix
As much as we love our streaming Netflix service, if there's one gripe (and it's a pretty big one), it's that the catalog of titles isn't anywhere near as fleshed out as we'd like it to be. But hey, at least Netflix is headed in the right direction, as evidenced by a deal with premium cable channel Epix reportedly valued at over $900 million.
Who the frak is Epix, you ask? Epix is owned and operated by Studio 3 Partners, a joint venture that includes Viacom (Paramount Pictures), MGM, and Lionsgate, all of which we're willing to bet you have heard of.
Under terms of the near $1 billion deal, Netflix will be allowed to stream titles from all three studios 90 days after they make their debut on Epix, giving the streaming service access to a greater number of big name titles.
The first such titles will start to trickle out on September 1st.

This is all fine (and great, really), but with all the ISP's having hissy-fits over bandwidth these days, I fear we will get to a point where using a service like this will cost a LOT more than just the NetFlix and ISP costs.
I'm convinced the mere rumor of NetFlix and Hulu coming to the iPhone is the primary reason AT&T canned the iPhone's all-you-can-eat bandwidth program.
This is only going to get worse I fear. We've all heard what that noisy, irritating little CEO of Verizon has been spouting this year about the end of unlimited bandwidth. That may have been the biggest trial-ballon we've seen in the last decade.
There is a reason why the US is #27 on the worlds broadband status list. And it can be summed up in one general word. Greed.
This ain't tin-foil hat stuff folks. It's real, it's coming, and it's in your face. Unless we as consumers start fighting back with our wallets. Sadly, I fear that is an art long lost in this country :(

I'd rather have hardware acceleration. It's choppy on my PC, especially HD.

Silverlight SUPPORTS it. Netflix has to enable it, which they have not.

Bravo for Netflix but they yet have to provide closed captioning via streaming. They are limiting their customer base by not providing this feature.

Heck yes! Streaming Netflix is where it's at. I only have enough of a cable subscription to watch NFL.
