What the hell would Microsoft have to show off? A new mouse... ooh. A new keyboard... ah. Windows 8... yawn.

What does MS have to show off at CES anyhow? Prebuilds of WIN 8 that can’t decide if it is a PC or tablet operating system so it will be a bloated mess on both. No thanks. MS save the money and spend it on cleaning up the bloated code on the PC and make a separate one for tablets and smart phones.

Windows 8 in it's current state has a smaller foot print than Windows 7.  How is it more bloated?

I do agree that having the same desktop across multiple devices may not be the best option.

Just recently in the past 3 to 5 years they have been putting computer hardware back in. But, I think the focus of most eho attend the show is Gadgets, Personal Electronics and Multimedia.  Oh! I forgot Card Audio as well.

I've have gone to CES since 2003, after ComDEX dived. There is no other computer show like ComDEX out there, even though CES came close, it was not worth sending a large sales force up. At ComDEX we would send 5 to 8 people up for the whole week to get things done.  With CES its 1 or 2 sales people.

It's sad to see Microsoft leaving the show. If this happens there might be others that will follow Microsoft as well.

I wonder why consumers should care about this, since consumers arent even allowed to go to CES.  It's press only.  Make it open to everyone (you'd have to purchase tickets of course), and then I'll start caring about CES.  The only reason I even keep up to date with CES is because thats when new stuff gets revealed to the press and to, they claim, consumers.  Then again, since they refuse to allow anyone but the press and coprprate execs in, I fail to see how they can claim they're doing it for consumers.  So Micro$oft isnt attending CES in 2013...OK, then (and thats the limit of my caring lol).

Strange that it's called the Consumer Electronics Show and consumers aren't even allowed to attend.  I don't think they like it when you call it the Consumer Electronics Show.

I know, right?  But thats what it's officially called, the CONSUMER Electronics Show and NOT the PRESS Electronics Show.
