Microsoft Launches Bing Search Engine Ahead of Schedule
Microsoft today let loose its new 'Bing' search engine in beta preview form, which is a few days earlier than we thought they would. For those that might have missed our previous coverage, Bing is the product of Microsoft's Kumo project, a new search engine with revamped algorithms. Microsoft is expected to spend anywhere between $80-$100 million marketing Bing, which is about 6-8 times the amount Google spent marketing its search engine in 2008.
We kicked the tires on the new search engine and our initial impression is that it has the speed to compete with Google and sports a nifty tricks, such as the ability to customize the layout and fine tune search results. But the real tests will be how relevant Bing can kick back search results, and whether or not the general public is willing to look beyond Google, which has become so prominent as to achieve verb status.
Check it out for yourself then hit the jump and tell us what you think.

I don't think it will be as powerful as Google in any way.
SEO is a very important tool, with direct results.
You can drive traffic easily to your website using SEO, saving money supposed to be paid for AD words.
It is an easy, cheap & effective way to boost your online sales too.

Quite taken with it. The integration of Microsoft Virtual Earth into the maps, allowing full 3D movement and rotation, being able to see the clouds about Tokyo was especially neat, looked like a storm was brewing :D. Search results have come back with an 80% to 100% relevancy on things i searched for. The video's has a neat tiling option, or sidebar view with info, which I was defintly taken with. Overall, I'm saying ta ta to Google for now. Bing it. :D

Maybe Bing! offers several new and innovative features that even Google doesn't have, but I really don't think Google is going to take a hit from Bing! at all. Face it, the Search Giant is most definitely here to stay in the foreseeable future. In time something will probably give Google a run for its money, but I don't believe this will be the case.

Just as an experiment and not that I know anything about the subject but I did a completely innocent search for porn and Bing search did not disapoint me at all. I didn't actually look at any of the websites, no not me.. Never ever.. But it did find a bunch of porn sites.
