Microsoft Axes Money Personal Finance Software
Microsoft today announced it would stop selling its Microsoft Money Plus software at the end of the month, and that all purchased Money Plus products must be activated prior to January 31, 2011.
"With banks, brokerage firms, and websites now providing a range of options for managing personal finances, the consumer need for Microsoft Money Plus has changed," Microsoft wrote on its Money webpage. "After suspending annual updates of Money Plus in 2008, Microsoft is announcing today that we will no longer offer Microsoft Money Plus for purchase after June 30, 2009."
The decision doesn't come as too much of a surprise. In August of last year, Microsoft pulled its Money software from retail shelves and began offering the program as a download-only, while also announcing it would no longer offer annual updates.
"It's a mix of what's going on in the market, what makes sense for long-term for us and a little bit on consumer behavior," said Adam Sohn, a director in Microsoft's Online Business Services unit.
Money joins a growing list of Microsoft products to get the axe since January. Earlier this year, Microsoft said it was discontinuing its Encarta encyclopedia and also stopped selling its Windows OneCare antivirus suite.

I think that Microsoft has a strong sense of market alignment and this measure is logical. A friend of mine, who's an online Forex broker once told me that there are now a lot of services that successfully replace Microsoft Money Plus. Even if now Microsoft is backed off I believe the company will soon produce another competitive finance software.

I’ll have to jump on the gnucash bandwagon as well. I’ve been using it on Windows and Linux for over a year now, and it works great on both. The double entry approach 70-543 is great for forcing some discipline on making sure you don’t have “slush” where there’s $20 less in your wallet than you remember spending. The reports (especially the expense and income over time bar and pie charts) are great for visualizing where your money is going. It’s in something like 20+ languages. Does assets (fixed and variable), liabilities, income, expense, etc. It’s nothing too flashy, but it works great an is easy to use. Never had any trouble importing data (including files supposedly only for Money or Quicken). And best of all – it’s free (both as in speech and as in beer), so you don’t lose anything 70-544 by trying it out. @JD – It has a fair amount of tools and reports for small business accounting, so I’m sure you could use it for that 70-545 too. I’ve never used it for business purposes, but it has worked great for me for personal finance.

It's also worth noting that people are now much more infromed or even educated about how to handle their personal finance to an extent where many can successfully manage the finances of a small business. This has hit Microsoft, it has hit both personal and business financial advisors too. It's even hitting credit card processing companies who are being pushed down by the services of Paypal which simplify the processes of receiving and sending money online and offline with their mobile processing partners.

The terms corporate finance and corporate financier are also associated with investment banking. The typical role of an investment bank is to evaluate the company's financial needs and raise the appropriate type of capital that best fits those needs.....

Who tried the Microsoft Axes Money Personal Finance Software? I have heard about this software and have seen good reviews. If it's popular, then why is Microsoft stopping its distribution? I am working on erp software and I think this microsoft product is a small erp software.

With the development of financial software, most of us have thrown away conventional manual mode of keeping accounts. Due to the high efficiency and multi-functions of financial software, it was used widely in different fields all over the world. But a powerful and easy-to-use financial software is very important which we select. Here I commend you a great utility of finance that I have used for a long time. That is Microsoft Money Deluxe which is designed by Microsoft Corp. It is an ideal solution for us to manage our finances online and offline. Give it a try and you will find that it is very helpful and powerful indeed. Read more on Quick payday loans online

Now that the program is discontinued, I think it's time for us to use a living help...not just a program. Why risking your financial life with a mere program? So I recommend you visit this site

These online tools are cool, but in my experience they don’t work for those of us who use small community banks. I would use mint or wesabe in a heartbeat, but so far my bank’s online banking system isn’t compatible
