Micro Innovations Offers Up Entire Line of Bamboo Peripherals
In what's sure to appeal to pandas, ninjas, and environmentalists who just can't go green enough, DBL Distributing LLC has partnered with Micro Innovations to release a full lineup of bamboo computer accessories. Why bamboo, you ask?
DBL points out that bamboo is a natural resource that's easily harvested and replenished with almost no impact to the earth. Switching to bamboo cuts back on carbon dioxide gasses, and DBL says it can be harvested in 3-5 years instead of the 10-50 years it takes to harvest most soft and hard woods.
"There is a high demand for environmentally friendly products," states Tim Coakley, Senior VP of Merchandising for DBL. "Research suggests that customers will pay a higher price for 'green' products and technology. Micro Innovations has developed a great new eco-friendly product line-up that is stylish and speaks to an under saturated market of people who seek eco-friendly innovative technology."
Starting in April, DBL will begin selling Micro Innovations' EcoSmart Bamboo computer keyboard and mouse for an unspecified price. Shortly after, DBL will add Bamboo speakers, webcam, 4-port USB hub, media card reader, and USB keyboard, also at unspecified price points.

Screw this stuff man. I want the anti eco friendly computer. I want a computer that requires the destruction of 20,000 acres of rainforest everyday just to run. I want a computer that exausts CFC's and Carbon monoxide while in sleep mode.
I've got a liberal friend at work that always screaming save the planet he yells at us for throwing away our coke cans. He just bought a 68 Ford Mustang. He was having engine trouble and the smell of that carborated engine was wonderfull. I exclaimed to him that his car was the anti green car. The anti eco friendly car. You can guess he didn't like that at all but he did laugh as it was true. LOL.. Now how is guilt ridden. LOL..

How in the world is making computer cases, et al, out of a natural resource, enviormentally friendly? I mean, can you recycle used bamboo like you can a used metal chassis? Not to mention the fact, that cutting down green growing things...decreases the oxygen in the atmosphere and increases green house gases.
On one hand we have people fighting to "save the rain forests" and on the other hand we have...uh...others, cutting down bamboo groves to make computer cases. Curiouser and curiouser lol
Take efficiency, and edit out all the intelligence and what you have left is a post-XP Microsoft operating system :)

Why wait 3-5 years for Bamboo when I can recycle Steel and Aluminum right now and build a happy metal computer case and use oil to make plastic for my mouse and peripherals.

Unlike a metal computer case. Bamboo is a renewable resource (a grass actually) and therefore doesn't need to be recycled. When compared to something like wood, the positive applicatations seem obvious.

glue to go between wood and plastic is expenscive and they would have to carve the keys by hand.
