Just wanted to send Maximum PC and ibuypower a HUGE thank you for the awesome gaming rig!

avatar

KyleG

Congrats man! I won the last i7 constest back in September. I love it.

They never announces me either though, I had to comment and announce it.

Can we see some pics please?? Photobucket them a post link if you can. I anxious to see it.

When I won mine it looked nothing like the pic they had on the contest page.

avatar

KyleG

I demand to know. Its like a month later!

If the contest winner is reading this just comment on here telling us you won.

Thats what I did after I wont the last Lynnfield i7 contest.

Or just POST THE WINNER. HOLY CRAP

avatar

jmatos

and so... very quietly and hardly any sign of ever happening, the contest faded into oblivion.

avatar

nickmo

3 weeks later and still no announcement. This is disappointing to me and embarrassing to Maximum PC.

avatar

jmatos

It was all an April fool joke.

avatar

cashboxxer

I guess nobody won.  Go ahead and send it to me.

avatar

luvtech

Did you guys forgot about this contest HELLO!!!....

NarcissusNarcosis

Its been 10 days, who won??

avatar

Is what supercourier saying true? If the CEO's wife won, then I smell a lawsuit coming.  Someone from MaximumPC.com needs to clarify.

avatar

supercourier

How did the CEO's wife manage to win under her maiden name?  And why did I have to invoke the Freedom of Information Act via U.S. Postal Service rather than having it posted online? Is the clarity of this contest inversely proportional to iBuypower's BBB rating? Just wondering...

avatar

nedwards

That's, uh, not really how the FOIA works. And we haven't announced the winner yet. But even if the CEO's wife entered, she wouldn't be eligible to win, thanks to this nifty clause in the contest rules:

"Employees of Sponsors, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, and agents, and foregoing employees’ household or immediate family members (defined as parent, spouse, child, sibling, or grandparent) are NOT eligible to enter Contest. "

That means nobody associated with Future US or any of its employees, nor iBuyPower or any of its employees, is eligible.

avatar

Derol

When are you going to announce the winner?

avatar

joeking

Funny how you state the rules because they also state:

HOW TO ENTER: Email us at contests@maximumpc.com, putting “iBUYPOWER Gaming PC Contest” in the subject line and including your complete name, address, daytime telephone number, city, state, and zip code in the body

Which according to one of your online editors, is false.  So why should we believe what the rules say?

avatar

nickmo

so Monday was three days ago. Who won????????????????????????????????????

avatar

djv0da

"A list of winners will be available for six months after the award of
prizes..."

what winners, isn`t there only one prize?

avatar

kiaghi7

I'm sure it was a clerical oversight, or perhaps the fault of a system miscommunication or some such...

Just the same, you can mail the PC to......

What? You can't blame me for trying :D

avatar

nickb64

I wonder who won?

avatar

Keith E. Whisman

So who won? I didn't get an Email or phone number so it can't be me.

avatar

joeking

Maybe they contact you on twitter instead..

avatar

Blindcheesecake

I had to make a twitter account for this...

avatar

strykyr

screw twitter.

avatar

helobuff

Thanks for such a great contest! Im In! Im helobuff on twitter!

avatar

Pinkyblister

I tried to enter via the e-mail route.  I hope it works.  No Twitter for me as well.

avatar

nickb64

Walked my mom through it because we don't have the cash to get off our Pentium D 945, 1GB DDR 400, and GeForce 6600LE. Would simply do the email entry, but unclear as to whether it is an accepted form of entry. :(

GG MaxPC

Maybe my mom's use of twitter will help bring it down, or she'll use it to take notes...

avatar

Tedster

I hope my email gets accepted

I'm confused about all of these rules clarifications

Ted

avatar

theused12

I just want someone to confirm that i CAN enter this contest through email.

avatar

joeking

It has been clarified.. or has it?  Here's the quote from Alex Castle, associate online editor for MaximumPC:

"Whoops! Sorry about that! This contest is for Twitter only, and the rules have been clarified..."

But if you read the rules, it clearly states the following:

HOW TO ENTER: Email us at contests@maximumpc.com, putting “iBUYPOWER Gaming PC Contest” in the subject line and including your complete name, address, daytime telephone number, city, state, and zip code in the body

So apparently, the rules have not been clarified.  Then again, the rules also state this:

 10. CONDITIONS: Participants agree that by participating they release the Releasees from any liability in connection with: a) Entries that are ineligible as a result of being lost, late, illegible, damaged, incomplete, stolen, postage due, or misdirected: b) Any typographical or other human or technical errors in the offer or administration of the Contest, including but not limited to errors in advertising, these official rules

So technically, the part about e-mailing entries could be a technical error and it doesn't mean anything.  Under these conditions, they are not responsible to change it either.

With all that said, I find this situation ironic.  Considering how strict and legal the rules are, you would think Maximum PC would be responsible enough to clarify the rules.  Hey mister online editor, perhaps do your job?

This is just my 2 cents.. I don't have anything against twitter, MaxPC or this contest.  I'm just hoping to get some clarification here because it seems like some people are still confused.

This better not be some kind of sick April fools Joke...

avatar

narbytrout

It is noted in the rules that, the rules can change at any time.

avatar

Queenof1

"this message" won't show up on my work computer :(

avatar

theused12

contest is very vague, but I really really want to win :P

avatar

fragonman

...i am so lost...

avatar

theused12

So an email is totally valid, right?

The guy wayyy down below said "this is twitter only now, sorry"

but the contest clearly states that you can email.

if i email in this form:

Name:

Address:

Phone#:

City/State/Zip:

...will i be entered?

thanks!

avatar

samduhman

I was questioning this myself. It does clearly state an email or twitter. I sent an email since I'm not interested in signing up for Twitter.

avatar

samduhman

I hope an actual MaximumPC fan wins this. I recall seeing your last PC giveaway constest being announced at other website forums. As a MaximumPC magazine subscriber and website viewer I felt us fans were getting screwed on our chance of winning. You need to find a way to block the posers.

avatar

KyleG

I won the last computer giveaway.

It looked totally different then the pic showed on maximum pc.

avatar

samduhman

While I understand that being selfish I want a better chance to win since I'm always stopping buy MaxPC and I'm a subscriber. I don't want some nub from fatwallet or anandtech strolling in here and worsening my chances and actually winning. ;P

It was good to see a MaxPC fan won the last one! :)

avatar

webfab
