Don't care, everything Blizzard produces these days is garbage.

Agreed. I was really looking forward to this game, but stopped caring months ago, based on where Blizzard (Activision) is taking the franchise. I don't know who they think they're appealing to, but it's not me.

It's because they sold out to Activision. They claim they have no influence on game design, which may be correct, but I've never seen such an increase in digital in-game purchases and other garbage until they started wearing the Activision name.

Diablo what? Wasn't that the game I was playing around the turn of the century? So long ago I can't remember... Oh yeah, before Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and NV and Skyrim got me sold on Bethesda's games. Shouldn't dick around so long Blizz.

It's "chAmping" at the bit, not "chOmping"....

I was more than excited to hear about Diablo III, I wanted it more than just about any other sequel I could image (M.U.L.E. II and Master of Magic II would be my top choices).

Then Blizzard added the feature no one wanted--oppressive DRM. I don't want to have to be online continuously to play a game I bought. Sure to use online features, no problem. To play a single player game, is just stupid.

I'll vote with my dollar and go elsewhere. I'm sure I'll find a nice indie game developer like Runic, who wants my money and respects me as a customer.

I'm a bit surprised because I wasn't expecting a release date that was so soon. Sounds to me like it was the pvp that was holding them up. The just announced that they're holding off pvp until a later patch and now the game is magically ready?

Diablo blows. No offense.

What's sad is that I was going to pick up Torchlight 2 (whenever it comes out) to tide me over until Diablo 3 was released. I guess the sales of that game will suffer now because the developers took their sweet time working on it.

I'm sure I'll buy Torchlight 2 eventually. It will be one of those "wait until a Steam sale" titles that I grab for a few bucks. I think I got Torchlight for $2.50 during a sale. The original was good enough that I have to at least give the second a try.

I agree that the story line was bleh. Something about the game was addicting though and kept me busy for hours hacking and slashing monsters. I hope the whole loot system gets revamped because it was a bit tedious with the amount of items you had to handle.

Not that I want to see Runic fail, but there will be no point in purchasing Torchlight 2 once D3 is out. People liked Torchlight 1, but I think that sweet price tag clouded their judgement. Aside from the few gameplay tweaks it had over Diablo 2, everything else about Torchlight was forgettable and boring. Plus, there was absolutely no story or any real motivation to play the game at all.

Had Runic hit their original 2011 release target, things might have been different. Now their only customers will be the D3 "No LAN" whiners.

"Now their only customers will be the D3 "No LAN" whiners."

Or the people who want to play a game true to the Diablo legacy.

Don't be surprised if there is another delay. It is to be expected from Blizzard. lol

A Blizzard release date is just about set in stone.

Yeah, they won't announce a release date unless they are sure they can make it.

Essentially they don't announce a release date until the game is done, they obviously knew how pissed (read: whiney) people were getting over delays, and decided to release the game and take the extra time to balance out PvP to be released in a patch.

I don't see how people can complain about this, if they didn't release the game without PvP, you would wait the same amount of time for the whole game as you now have to for the PvP patch.
