I learned first aid in high school, and what to do in case of bio, chem, bio-chem, and nuclear attack, how to prepare and how to respond.  Yep.

I'm fine with my "Zombie Survival Guide."

But seriously: "Aww Damn! I cut my finger off! No! How am I going to unlock my iPhone to access my 'First Aid' app! Dagnit! What do you do to stop yourself from bleeding! Common sense and saftey videos have failed me!"

CLICK.

It's good that a man's life is saved but it's kind of endorsement.

Credit should go to the app developer rather than phone.

So,I think whoever has created that app, saved his life.

While I'm not fan of the iPhone (G1 owner), since it was an iPhone "app" that did the trick here, stop saying "Did it have to be an iPhone".  The user didn't use the phone's Internet capability to look up first aid information, he used an app for the iPhone.

Meanwhile, running a search for "first aid" on the Android Market had only one relevant result, and it isn't free (is the iPhone one free?).

Too bad he didn't have a distress beacon app too.. that probably would have gotten him rescued in a few hours instead of 67.

*sigh* And now we wait for the "Injured and trapped, and need some first aid? There's an app for that" commercials!

To be fair...how many smart phones HAVE a first aid app?
